Ebay and copyrights
« on: January 10, 2013, 07:54:21 PM »
There was the Z10 the other day that used the complete Z10 article in the ad.

Now there's a LM1 that has the complete LM1 article in the ad. (Thanks for the heads-up, Ed!) Ebay has been notified.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251211677993

We'd appreciate if anyone notices any other ads with CRG content in the ad to let us know. :)

Thaks!

If they were to give CRG credit in the ad would you let it stay up?

Yes. Per the LEGAL PAGE:

Quote
Copying

We are reasonable people, and actually want the information that we develop and publish to be used by the hobby. However, we don't like it when people copy and display our work as though it is their own; materials that we've spent untold hours perfecting. We desire proper attribution for our work. Therefore, no one shall reproduce ANY information from this site without complying with ALL of the following (see Photo or Sketch Exception below):

1.Obtain permission of the CRG to copy specific sections of the CRG site. This is done by emailing the CRG copyrights manager and requesting approval. Include an explanation of which portions of the site are proposed to be extracted and for what purposes. Any permissions granted can be revoked at any time at the discretion of the CRG (though unlikely, since we are reasonable people).

2.No changes shall be made to any of the copied/extracted CRG materials; all materials shall be displayed verbatim, including the author's name, if applicable.

3.Display the following statement, in a font size and color that is consistent with and readable on the surrounding page, immediately above any extracted information:
"Information below used by permission of the Camaro Research Group (CRG), www.camaros.org."

4.Display the following statement, in a font size and color that is consistent with and readable on the surrounding page, immediately below (or at the bottom of a full page of extracted information) all copies of information extracted from the CRG site:
"This information has been extracted, verbatim, from the web site of the Camaro Research Group (CRG), and is ©1998-2012, Camaro Research Group. The latest CRG version at www.camaros.org may contain updated information or corrections not shown in this copy."

5.All above references to the CRG web site at http://www.camaros.org/index.shtml shall be active links within the references.

Photo or Sketch Exception

1.Obtain permission of the CRG to use specific pictures or sketches on the CRG site. This is done by emailing the CRG copyrights manager and requesting approval. Include an explanation of which pictures or sketches from the site are proposed to be used and for what purposes. Any permissions granted can be revoked at any time at the discretion of the CRG (though unlikely, since we are reasonable people).

2.If an individual picture or sketch is used, the picture must be labeled "Courtesy of CRG, www.camaros.org", either with text next to the picture or text added on the picture itself.

3.Text references to the CRG web site at http://www.camaros.org/index.shtml shall be active links within the references.

For the LM1 ad, it's out of our hands since ebay has been notified.

The seller also is using the LM1 info from Rich Pern's site. That's copyrighted too.
