Fuel/Brake Line Frame Clips
« on: October 11, 2012, 03:33:08 PM »
I have to replace some fuel line/brake line frame clips.  Originals are held on by rivets allowing the clips to spin.  Thoughts on the best way to fasten the new ones to the frame?

In the plant, we used a small burp-gun (air hammer) with a tapered shank in it for those clips; you can use a tapered drift punch or scratch awl to do the same thing. Just push the tubular rivet portion of the clip in the hole so the clip is seated, drive the punch or awl through the rivet, and it will expand the end of the tubular portion inside the subframe.
