Engine code: V0524EE
Vin: 124678N442613
Datecode on cowltag is 05E

EE points toward 327/275 hp and car does have four-barrelcarb, looking all original.
BUT, car has SINGLE LEAF SPRINGS!!!!

I still have to check for 12-bolt diff and brake proportioning valve.
What are other pointers and is it at all possible that single leaf springs are mounted with the 275 hp engine in 1968?

THANKS for looking into this, I really need help! I haven't bought the car yet!!

For 68, the EE code is a 327/275 with a Powerglide. You "should" have a 10 bolt and single leaf springs. 327/275 with a 4 speed (L30/M20) would have received the multi-leaf springs and a 12 bolt.

All your dates line up nicely. How much is he asking and what kind of shape is it in?

Ed (the new CRG --congratulations!) is steering you right...
If you were hoping for a L30/M20, the suffix should be EA in 68.
EE points to exactly what he described: a 68 L30/M35

Look here:

http://www.camaros.org/geninfo.shtml#L30M20
http://www.camaros.org/diffs68.shtml --footnote 9

Also, if you're really shopping, you need a copy of Colvin's Chevrolet By the Numbers, 1965-69 to check the numbers.

But if you are looking for a good driver -- cruiser, a L30/M35 is a fine Camaro.  I love mine!
Do post an answer about Ed's last question...

Thanks so much for the answers, they are reassuring, just what I needed!
As far as the car is concerned: It's a California car, no rust, Le mans Blue with white top.
The engine has been rebuild, everything is nice and it drives tight. I will be paying 25.000 dollar.
It has power steering and power brakes, trimcode 717
No pictures to post at the moment, but I see what I can do with free hosting somewhere.
Thanks again!

At least it hasn't been cloned to death!
If the numbers match and it's in decent shape, you'll probably have to pay about 25K to get any sort of decent car nowadays...
