69 Z/28 block question

A friend of mine has a 01C 1969 Z/28.The original engine is long gone,but he is looking to put together a date correct engine for it.Would a Dec 18 68 block be correct? Thanks for any help.

Depends on the assembly plant. In my db there are a few December castings among Norwood 01C builds; most seem to be January. More common at the Van Nuys plant.

Should be ok.
