Oil Pan Drain Plug
« on: October 18, 2013, 02:23:35 PM »
Hy Guys,

I'm in need of a oil pan drain plug for an early build 69 Z. I've seen a few different ones with different head markings. Can anyone post a pic of there original plug. It would be deeply appreciated and I wouldn't have to do any guessing.  Thanks, Rick

You know what I need one for my car as well (late build 08C). The one I have on is the original but it looks like they used channel locks to take it off each time. I think it may have an "A" on it but can't be sure. I would also like to know what is the correct one for my car.

This item seems so trivial but I am glad you posted about it Rick.

I've seen the ones with the "A" on it along with a few others. Back in the day my original one was taken out and a after market magnetic one put in. Well hopefully there's someone out there with an original that can help up both out. Be interesting to see if there the same for all 69s or if they changed at some point.

Check this one out, from an NOS '69 dated pan I have salted away. I'll check out my 01C pan this weekend when I can get to it - bet it's an "A" as well ("A" seems to be popular - I've seen several of them).

Regards,
Steve

So it sounds like I need to locate an "A" plug to replace my chewed up one.
