General Discussion / Re: LED Bulbs Revisited
« on: June 23, 2018, 02:40:38 AM »
My 67 rear tail lights are led factory style socket, purchased from Advance Auto, and had no effect on turn signal blinking speed. The pic is just the running lights not the brake lights.

No 4P or 4N designation, not an SS car.  At least that I know

My electronic conversion box is a crane xri, with their aftermarket coil you are required to keep the resistance wire in place. I'm not sure on pertronix, the resistor wire is required for the coil not the ignition piece.

Good to know, I would have never thought of checking that first

Can you force the gauge to empty by grounding the brown wire at the plug coupling in the trunk that goes to the sending unit?

I use the factory mount recall cable torque strap, I don't trust the factory mounts with my 4 speed.  My paper for the recall is dated 1971.  Also you can see in my pic my engine is not factory correct on several items.

I agree on the idiot light, the factory gauge is a tad out of your line of sight

On my rebuilt 67 350, I use repro factory gauges.  The lines on my gauge each represent 20 psi increments.  My engine cold shows between the middle and next high line.  As it get operating temp, my thermostat is 180, at idle the needle points and the second  line, which is 20 psi, because the first line is with the engine off.  Before I put the repro gauges in I had the dummy light and it never flickered or came on.  I use conventional 10w30 oil.  If this helps any, my pic is cold idle, I don't have a pic of engine hot.

That's a great question and I will show you.  I got the 67 intake for free so I felt it didn't hurt anything to drill it
