General Discussion / Re: Camaro Nationals in Frederick

Two of us are driving up from Atlanta. Really looking forward to it. Since this will be our first time we are not bringing cars. He with Butternut Yellow and me with Fathom Green survivors. We belong to the AllGen Camaro Club in the Atlanta area. Hope to see some incredible iron up there.

I have 2 of those books along with Jerry's book. Which book would be closest to a Haynes book?

General Discussion / Reference books
« on: January 25, 2016, 03:19:24 PM »
Doesn't anyone publish a reference book on 1967-69 Camaros like the Haynes series. They only offer manuals for later model Camaros. I have the GM Overhaul Manual, Service Manual  and AIM and they still don't illustrate like the Haynes series does on other makes and models. I have one of their manuals on my truck and it is excellent. Noticed other posts refer to the AIM, which is good, but they only have drawings, and sometimes I need to see more detail and pictures would do the trick. Any help?

Originality / Added value
« on: January 04, 2016, 03:30:53 PM »
Seen a lot of posts re: repop Goodyear WTGT, Firestone tires on Z/28s as far as ride, handling. Wondering if the cost of buying a set of these would add that much more value to the car? Really like the look of originals, but the cost is so steep and ride may not be that good, don't know if it would be worth it.  Any feedback.

Restoration / Power Steering kit
« on: January 04, 2016, 03:20:54 PM »
Wanted to add p/s for '69 Z/28. The only kit I found was HBC for about $800. Classic Industries, NPD etc. sells everything individually. Has anybody used the kit from HBC or know of any other supplier that might even be cheaper? Thanks for any info.

Thx for the input. Should I also try a little suction on the opening on the back of the gauge?

Restoration / 1969 console oil presure gauge
« on: December 18, 2015, 02:15:26 PM »
Have a 69 Z/28 with console gauges. When the engine is turned off the oil pressure gauge only returns to 20 lbs. Is there a way to make it return to zero without tearing it up?  I have a repo gauge but would rather use the original if possible.
