Anyone know if this company is still in business? Called the # on their website and got a recording that it is no longer a working #. Found a # from '09 on this website. It did ring and got a generic VM. Left a msg. Doing the research, sounds like a good product, inexpensive and easy to use. Is there another company  that offers the same type of product?

Restoration / Re: Source for 302 cylinder heads
« on: April 14, 2017, 04:50:58 PM »
Think I found a shop locally. They say they can repair the heads and suggested I could have the water jackets ceramic coated to ensure a better seal. They didn't think I needed to have hardened valve seats installed. Has anyone had water jackets ceramic coated? Would it be better? Also, I have heard for a long time about hardened valve seats being necessary when running unleaded gas. Any thoughts?

Both of my heads are cracked and can not be repaired. Checked several Camaro sources with no luck. Does anyone have suggestions? Getting desperate.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: No engine pad VIN stamp?

Saw this car on the net 2 yrs ago when I was looking to buy. The seller stated she wasn't sure if the engine was #s matching, but there was a 50/50 chance it was. She was asking around $50 K. Emailed back, was not paying that price for a car that MAYBE #s matching. Never heard back. She also has a Chevelle that has the same paint scheme.

What kind of manifold is this? Would it be stock? The reason I ask is, I have the same thing. I was going to order a repo set from one of the online companies, but if is correct then I will hold off. The right side looks like it could be for a standard engine with a heater box.

Found out my neighbor has an original '69 base Camaro with a 350 ci 250 hp engine. Bought it in 1970. One repaint Wanted to share this. It could use some TLC.

Originality / Re: Intake manifold bolts/Engine lift hook brackets for SB
« on: September 17, 2016, 06:34:07 PM »
Bill,
Thx for the photo. I have seen quite a few pics of the driver's side bracket, but yours is the first showing the passenger side. Having a heck of a time trying to find the longer bolts. A lot of places sell the brackets and a bolt kit, but not a kit with the 2 longer bolts or just the longer bolts. Where did you find the flange bolt and how long is it?

Originality / Intake manifold bolts/Engine lift hook brackets for SB
« on: September 15, 2016, 07:37:57 PM »
Ordered an engine lift hook brackets(1256599) from Classic Industries.(Came with Paragon instruction) They offer 2 different ones. The other is HC70. They both show they are for a SB. The one I ordered looks to be the original type that came on the '69 Z/28.  The right rear bracket bolts to the bellhousing. The other one just bolts to the intake. How much longer does this bolt need to be? Also ordered the intake manifold bolt kit. They don't offer a bolt kit with the 2 longer flange bolts. On a previous thread someone mentioned a certain flanged bolt size(3/8 16x1-1/4) from AMK. I called AMK. The lady I spoke with told me that bolt was for a big block. Don't want to order the wrong/incorrect bolts.  I am confused. Which lift bracket is correct for my application and what are the correct longer flanged bolts and the AMK part #.  Thanks for any help.

Garage Talk / Re: Oil level on dipstick
« on: July 03, 2016, 04:43:32 PM »
I also show about a 1/2 qt. low after oil/filter change. I use a Wix 51069 filter which is what the Wix catalog shows. Thought I might have the wrong filter, dipstick or dipstick tube. Even a 6 qt. pan. The manual even shows 5 qt. capacity with filter change. Didn't want to over fill, so showing 1/2 qt. low I know I have 5 qts. Still would like to see the level up to FULL, but don't want to damage the engine.

General Discussion / Hi temp paint for exhaust manifold
« on: June 26, 2016, 07:34:21 PM »
Did a search for this but did not find info. Thinking about painting new exhaust manifolds with a hi temp paint. Is one better than another. Saw Eastwood has a product with mixed reviews or should I just leave them and let them surface rust?
