I know nothing about the cowl paint, so I hope this is useful. I am also curious about what I see. Today I cleaned the cowl only in the area around the tag. I'm fairly certain the engine and cowl has never been repainted, but nothing is guaranteed. There is some light rust directly above the "Body by Fisher", so the paint is lost there. If you want a better close-up, I can email to you.

Edit - While I'm looking at this picture I just posted, I see the glare along the edge so that's not very useful. Let me know if you want a better picture without the glare.

Is the rest of the car original, drivetrain? If it isn't, then changing the interior won't matter much to the value when you sell it because the sale is about looks and not originality. It may even help the sale price.

Charlie - the part number on your mat starts with 8 and finishes with 02A, same as mine and also the ebay auction mat. This doesn't mean anything conclusive nor infers originality. But I think its more than coincidence and we can at least agree these mats were made by the same mfg, sometime in the past.

That looks like the basketweave of a 60s ford, maybe a Fairlane but I don't know my fords. Sorry, I hope that doesn't sound rude. I was expecting to see something more like houndstooth.

Thanks! That tach is very blue, same color as his 1970 Nova (youtube link at the bottom of his post). I think we should assume the accessory tach was originally black. Also I noticed he has a dash tach, so he must have changed his mind about the accessory tach. Since this is a dealer add-on, I don't think they would have been painted before install.

I pulled my trunk mat out of the goodies closet. The part number stamped in paint is 85050602A. It doesn't have GM stamped anywhere. There is a pressed stamp in a corner 9293. Shape, size, contours and angles all appear the same as the ebay item, except mine does not have a cut-out for the spare tire boltdown rod. The only other difference I could see was the ebay item seems to have a shadow in the closeup view of the houndstooth pattern, mine has very little of this - but I can find a little when I look at a picture in highdef closeup. Shadows are all to the right of each part in the pattern.
In my opinion this ebay item was made by the same manufacturer, just based on the pictures. I don't know if there's any reproductions being made like this. Still doesn't mean these are NOS.

I don't see the trunk mat in the 1969 AIM for deluxe interior Z87. I have a trunk mat I bought maybe 10 years ago that I thought was NOS, but obviously I don't know for sure what's NOS. An ebay auction started today for an NOS mat, different numbers than mine. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Up for sale I have a 1969 Camaro NEW " NOS " RARE Factory Fit Rubber Trunk Mat. My research tells me that this trunk mat came only in the 1969 Camaro's that had Deluxe Interiors. It is a RUBBER mat with a Green & Black Houndstooth pattern, it is NOT vinyl like the Reproductions. The GM# 87102202A is printed on the back, as seen in the pictures.

Thanks Steve for your post! I have a few of those AC432 gas filters in my goodies garage, I just didn't want to put them on a dirty engine. But a big thank you on the master cylinder, I didn't remember pulling that off. On a restoration thread, I'm going to ask for suggestions on where to send it. I'm not worrying about the smog equipment unless I decide to restore the car for show. I'll probably restore the engine without smog and just accept the inconsistency. Unless of course anyone wants to sell me their smog and manifolds.

And thank you Austin for the confirmation on that air cleaner stud. I don't know why it won't go in any further, and yes i did close the hood very slowly a few times just to make sure it didn't dimple my hood. Maybe this is an undocumented RPO, short front antenna when coupled with rear antenna.

I found this so nevermind, the MA6 is no unicorn.

Production totals for MA6 in a Camaro was the big zero. Engine build records confirm it.

No the only picture she said they had was in their wedding album. Typical "Just Married" pic of the rear windshield. It didn't show the entire car, wouldn't that have been nice. But I can't even find that.
