Just throwing this out there..... Is it possible the "Z" character could have been loaded upside down in the gang stamp holder, allowing it to be misaligned with the rest of the stamping?

I haven't seen an empty gang stamp holder in some time and am not real familiar with how the individual number/letter stamps are secured in it. Does anyone have detailed pictures of one and how it was loaded prior to its use?

"......What dose UNC and UNF stand for?"

This from Google - - -
UNF threads are Unified fine pitch threads, while UNC threads are Unified coarse pitch threads. UNF and UNC thread screws are both used for fastening, but mainly applied in different fields. coarse thread has higher strength and find thread is better for sealing.

Hmmmm, I never heard of this.  So, not an MSD, but electronic without the box and looks original.  Interesting.  I need to hear more.

Here is a link to a great breakerless ignition that looks totally stock when used >>> https://www.lectriclimited.com/catalog/product/view/id/85039/s/breakerless-se-electronic-ignition-conversion/category/736/

I may be wrong, but to me it looks as if something was spilled / smeared on the block, painted over without removing it, and that it's not an actual crack. There's also more of something on top of the water pump just below this supposed crack. I also agree that the paint needs to be removed with thinner or other solvent to show the actual block surface.

I often wonder if anyone is actually reading this garbage I post...after all, it's a SIX-BANGER!

Oh my...... your posts could never be described as garbage !!! They are very informative and extremely enlightening. I, like others I'm sure, are always looking forward to the coming additional offerings of your passion to preserve your Camaro. Don't ever stop, and many, many thanks for all you've provided us up to this point.

My hat is off to you and your dedication to continuing this superbly informative (and often unobserved) side of the history of Camaro. Thank you.

Chuck
