Just curious about my current jack origin, that's all.

And (unfortunately) as a perfectionist, I'd really like to have the perfect part for my lovely car, that's it !

Thanks Ed.

Here are some pictures of the current jack I had with the car when I bought it 3 years ago

As you can see, it is 33.5 inch long

is your car a late 69 9B, or early?

It's an LM1, so probably within the first Camaro produced.....9B 1968, for a model year 69

anyway, not too sure about what I'll do.....don't like very much the repro kit. Not sure either, where the one I already had with the car comes from, it doesn't look like the Camaro jack.

Someone can explain how it works with the date coded on the shaft ? If I think about our cars, the first number is the month, second is a letter for the week. For the jack, there's a number as well, but there's much more choice of letter.....

Per example, there's some for sale with a date of 9J, or 9H.....what does that mean ? My car is a 9B from Norwood.

My car was restored in 2007, 8 years before I bought it. It seems to be the original trunk lid, since I do have a date on it. It'S an original part anyway.

I do believe that my spoiler was added by the dealer once upon the time, and then in 2007 when the car was restored, they repaint the inside as well, so make sure the holes we're well covered with paint to avoid future rust problem.

I've only seen the NOR type reproduced, with the date on the rivet.

I'm not taking about the repro sold by heartbeat, but the restored original ones.....at 600$ US each !

I believe also that this spoiler was added, especially on an RS. I'm just wondering if yes or no, I'll put a rear "Camaro" emblem forward of the spoiler.

I searched Gardner Exhaust. Just one word: wow !

Anyone has experience with this company ?

I asked them a quotation.

Thanks ZLP, I already knew and check this thread. I'm just wondering if I order one from heartbeat Camaro with a date, 1 month or 2 before my built date, if it will be a Norwood or Los Angeles version ? Their picture are all the same for every months available....

thanks for the useful information ZLP. My car is a Norwood, so what should be the mast instead of square ?

Decoding/Numbers / Correct built date for a jack
« on: August 26, 2017, 10:14:57 PM »
My jack is not the original one. I saw that few places, like heartbeat Camaro are selling jack, with many available built dates.

My 69 RS is 9B. What would be the correct built date for the jack ? Any specifications of the dimensions and model type of the jack I should buy ?

Any comments are appreciated, as you guys are the best source of information and knowledge around !

thanks for the reply, I appreciated. I want it as much as possible close to the original, in shape and in size.....so 2" is the smallest I could find, so far.

yes ok.

But for someone who had it installed at the dealer after while, does the dealer was relocating the emblem, or simply throw it away ?
