Decoding/Numbers / Re: CE Block
« on: October 14, 2019, 04:39:36 PM »
Hi Gary,
Thanks for your response. Yes, the CE block was in a 69 Z28. Apparently, the owner located his original, born with engine and removed this block from his car. I don't know the VIN and there isn't any paperwork documenting the warranty exchange. Any idea on the value of this CE short block as it sits right now?
Thanks, Terry

Hi Everyone,
i am trying to determine if this is a real warranty block for a 69 Z28. It is standard bore with forged pistons, solid lift cam and has the 1178 crank. It has about 2000 miles on it. The block number is 3970010 with a date code of K 11 9. Attached are photos of the engine pad. What is the value on this short block? Thanks for your input.
Terry :)

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the contact information regarding the front coil springs...as always, much appreciated! Bullitt was very thoughtful in offering your Z parts to me first...lol. He did provide me with a good laugh on this post  ;D

Hi Gary,
Do you remember the contact person at CSS who is familiar with your order? I would like to purchase a set based on the specifications you sent them.
Regards, Terry

Hi,
Has anyone purchased EY front coils from HBC, part number FEP-1191? Are they correct in appearance and more importantly, do they provide the correct ride height? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Terry

Judging from the examples Tim provided in his reply, it looks original to me.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: 69 distribution block and metering valve
« on: December 29, 2016, 04:26:39 AM »
Hi Gary and Dave,
It will be interesting to see if Dave's metering valve is close to your number 81 and what it means in terms of build dates. I don't think 81 is a Julian date because it translates to March 22, 1969 which is 6 months away...I hope we can clarify what these numbers mean. The distribution blocks on your cars are July 18 and July 21 which makes sense...
