After looking at many re-stamped, retagged & basically fake first gen Z's, Jerry M connected me with this very nice 51,000 mile original Sequoia Green 68 Z28. :D

Thanks for everyone that provided invaluable comments & info on my previous posts!

Onto the next one....

Thanks for the comments :)

I had noticed the seller stated SS/RS & after looking at a couple of legit engine pad stamps received from today from JM, I am pretty sure this is a re-stamp.

Jim - fyi the engine block casting date is I 20 8.

Per Jerry M - real trim tag - everything else re-stamps.

Decoding/Numbers / Another 1969 Z28??
« on: February 19, 2015, 03:38:39 AM »
Hello again -

I am still searching for a real 69 Z28.

Attached is a photo of a 69 Camaro engine pad stamp I am looking at - my concern is the font in the "1" of 15. Any comments on this stamp would be appreciated.

As well I have attached photos of the trim tag and engine VIN stamp for any comments.

Thank you :)

FYI - I have sent several better photos to Jerry M & will post his comments on this car.

Based on my newbie research the rear axle casting date is for a later car. (Photo attached)

As well - here is a better photo of the engine stamp - any comments?

Thanks Bullitt -

Interestingly I found another Z advertised with the 3.31 rear axle:

As well, I have sent all of the info including the attached engine stamp photo (not very good) to Jerry McNeish for his input.

Thank again :)

Thanks for all the replies - very helpful for sure.

The gear ratio is very concerning as is the door label - adding it is deceitful.

FYI - the title is clear but is in WA State? As well, the Model and Style are missing from it?

The last title change was from the 2011 LV BJ auction to the current private owner. If you read the BJ posting, Z28 is not in the tittle, only Camaro Coupe - the car is referred to in the text as a "Z28 project"....

Based on all of this - I will likely pass on this one.

Thanks again for all of the assistance.

Hi Boston14 -

Does your tag have an X code?

Thanks ZLP955 - definitely worth checking.  ???

The Ebay posting states "clear title".

PS - this car was advertised in the UK last year stating matching numbers with a "date matched BS 0325 G1" rear axle...

Thank you Bullitt65 - I really appreciate user your comments! I won't close the deal on this Z unless it checks out.

I have a message in for Jerry M - hopefully he is available.

If not I will try Steve for a reference - thanks again.
