That works date wise for a 67 Z my friend has.  But VIN is well after his 194XXX VIN.   3D build date on the trim tag

If you are going to change rears and pit a 12 bolt in, just bolt the rear in like the factory did.    I ran ladder bar and  floaters on the 68 camaro I had.  You can leave the springs in.  Will be a nice softer ride than multi leaf springs.     I raced and teched  cars fir NHRA and IHRA.    My guess is if there are no other mounts in the back, someone started to upgrade and did not finish the job.    The 67 I just bought was in the process of and upgrade in the late 70's and never got finished.

The floater needs somthing.  Usually ladder bars to locate,   hold the rear in place.  The spring holds it up.   Also very unsafe to have a fuel cell under the car

I am surprised Kurt has not posted yet.  I asked him 2 years ago about 396 Pace Car production.  I was told around 500 to 735 range.  I asked because a friend of mine has one that  needs restored.   Now for sale because he bought a 67Z.  Car is very rough,  but has original engine and 3.08 128 bolt rear.  Turbo 400 is not original.    Car is in the registry.  But if you are going by Hp ratings.  375 cars were the lowest production

Read both adds.  One honest and one misleading.   They never claim it is a Pace Car.  But boy does it say everything but.  A lot of Smoke and Mirrors

To me a large part of the problem is prices.  I took 2 4 speeds and set them out for 850.  Both clean and ready to go.   I had the side covers off nothing to hide.    No interest.    Fall has not been good for me in over 6 years.  Dad heard a guy say that in coming 8 years,  he did not know anything was outside the track.    I  heard the Red field is gone in the spring.    That will help tighten up the Green field.    I am only making MY comments not as complaining,  but to help make things better.    I love coming down.   And this year's events didn't stop us old northerners

We stayed north west of the trouble.    All went well.   It was really hot.  Attendance was not the best.  I may just go next spring.   Skip the fall and go to Carlisle GM show.    It is a good time because I'm with my dad and uncle.  But the show is starting to be a disappointment.    The new inside layout is really confusing.

All packed.  Now there is a riot issue.    The police keep shooting what is said to be the wrong people.

I am 8 and a half  hours and look forward to it.  Only problem with fall is our northern winter is coming.   Last year was nasty cold  under 20 most all winter.   This summer had 43 90 plus degree days.  I work in a 225 year old steel mill in maintenance and summer is when we have shut down for repairs.  So I am looking for some vacation time

After a long hot summer  and a hard work schedule I am ready.    Vacation is next week and  me and the old guys will be in NC.  I am going to bring a few nos parts, some nicely reconditioned RS parts, 2 Muncies,  old speed parts, and a complete 2 inch drop spindle set up with brakes.   Love heading south  and we are in the green field just outside of the tunnel.   Stop by sat hi, take a load off if you need to.  Dan

Sounds like an issue in the fuse box area.  Power comes in through the fuse box and splits to the key and a big red wire powering the headlights

General Discussion / Re: Rarest 69 Camaro ever?

Rare is an over used term.    But is used to get your attention.   A sales tactic to make you think you must have it or you will be missing out on something.   And rare does not always mean desirable.   I have a friend with a 68 bench seat rare, yes, but who wants it.  I  have two 67 3 speed column shift steering columns,  rare, but who wants them.   Low production is a more correct term, but it is not flashy
