I'm sorry....I meant to say "hex head" screws with the large G and the L inside the G,  imprinted on the head itself.

Well my 67 LOS built 03C car is different again.  The rear tail light assemblies have Phillips screw fasteners on the drivers side and pan head screw fasteners on the passenger side.  Does this mean that there were two different assemblers on each side using two different bins?  I never noticed this before, and they are the originals.

Decoding/Numbers / Words on back of sail panel (67)
« on: July 12, 2014, 02:39:12 AM »
In the process of removing my old headliner and sail panel material (and accumulation of a past mouse, or "mices" nest or two, I found the words "holes 100 pr" hand written on the back of one of the rear sail panels.  I'm thinking it meant "holes 100 pair'?  I wonder if they only punched holes in the sail panels of what they needed at the time for the courtesy lights to fit the cars with the deluxe interior?  Does that sound right?  I tried and tried posting the pic of it but it wont let me even though I saved it in photobucket with the link.  I did order the headliner with enough sail panel material and new visors to match from Classic Ind. and it matches the old ones perfect!   I did however have to order the insulation pieces from Heartbeat as CI didn't have them.  Roof underside looks great with rods etc.  Even the plastic clips are in great shape although I did order new ones.  A little touch up paint and some Lysol spray (for where the mice were) and it's ready for the install.  Even painted up the rods nice.  Might have to show pics somehow when it's all done if I can get them to send.

I have been looking for a 7037210 for years now (67 BB 396 with auto and A.I.R. mid production 3rd week of March) about every day or so and I have come to the conclusion that there are none left.  Except maybe the ones already on the car.  I resolved to put on a 7027210 Carter Quadrajet and keep it non A.I.R. for that and other reasons.

Yes, I too had the same thing.  A mouse hole the size of a quarter that got in there and did some damage.  I'll have to replace all the insulation due to him getting in there messing it up. This was done years ago.  Found out that he must have got in through a hole in the firewall.  Rubber grommet out.  It's in now!   I don't think my installer will have to pull the back window out to install the headliner, at least he didn't mention anything of it.  I will however need to get the bow clips and sail panel clips? as they should be replaced.  Going to order it all from CI. tomorrow as planned.  They don't carry the insulation tho. I see Heartbeat City has those.  I will be taking the old one out.  Do I need to take the rear armrest (panels) off as well to help installation of the sail panels?  Or just the trim work?  Some people talk of a headliner board in there but I don't seem to have one. Nor did the installer mention it.   Just the insulation.  I'll see more of it when I work on it tomorrow.  He said it should take about 4 hrs to put it in right if all goes well.

Thanks for the info.  I will point this out to the installer if it helps him, but I think he has done many.   I was thinking of purchasing the items myself in order to make sure I get the correct ones AND maybe avoid his mark up.  This hobby can get expensive after a while as I'm sure you all know!  Impala leather huh?  That's good to know as their are a few options.  Thanks again.  I will have to post some pictures of it when it's finished. :)

Well I need to replace my headliner due to age and the thread holding it getting rotten and coming loose in spots.  I've been putting it off too long and decided to finally go for it.  I'm thinking I should replace everything at once (visors, sail panels etc.) to get the colors to match and be done with it.  I will get someone with experience to put them in as I heard they can be a bugger!  What I am asking is if any of you could recommend any vendor that offers a good product that closely matches the originals as far as fit and finish, and fabric.  This is from my 67 396 with the black deluxe interior.  I'm not replacing the carpet or seat covers etc. just what I mentioned.  Is there any other pieces/parts I need to get for the installation?  I'm sure my installer would know too.  Any tips would be greatly appreciated.  I'm just not looking for an inferior interior!  Thanks.

Yes.  My engine is the original mz coded.  Built jan 67 at the tonawanda? Spelling? Plant.  It has the exhause manifold holes for the smog pump.  I also have the correct fan spacer 3857042 like you haveback on the car.  I just don't have it installed with the 4 blade fan.  Someone had a five blade flex fan on there.  I put the 4 blade back on but not the spacer.  I need to do that now that I found it.

Thanks Mike.  I might just nix on putting the smog pump etc. on there again.  I did find out that by looking at your pictures that I have the incorrect air cleaner base, as I don't have the one extra tube for the air pump supply.  :( Trying to get the right smog pump with attaching $$$ bracket and hoses etc. just make it not fun.  Who knows, maybe I will get happy and keep looking.  For now, it's the 1100696 alternator.  I'll find one in my price range for this car eventually.  It's not that I'm cheap ;D but some of those e pay prices are not what I want to do just now especially for used ones!    I like the originality of your car.  Don't change it!
