General Discussion / Re: Disc brake conversion
« on: March 09, 2022, 07:12:44 PM »
I just went through this situation yesterday when I went to the brake shop to have my '69 rotors turned, but they where to thin to turn, so I went to NAPA to find a good replacement and they only had the single piece rotor vs. the two piece, when we compared it with my original rotor it was dimensionally identical and would have worked fine, but I want to keep everything as original as possible without sacrificing safety and ultimately ordered the two piece unites from HBC, when it comes to judging, safety trumps originality and if you decide to mate a original hub with a new rotor may require balancing, doesn't seem worth the effort IMP.

Does anyone know where to acquire a correct white colored fabric ribbon similar to what the factory used in installation?  The old threads on this subject did not have any recourses at the time and wondering if anything like that has come available for a factory correct windshield installation.

Restoration / 1969 backup light restoration
« on: December 07, 2021, 04:17:47 AM »
I’m looking for advice in regards to my RS backup lights, I have the originals which are in great shape other than some minor pitting on the chrome and would like to send them out to be re-chromed , however I cannot figure out how to remove the wiring harness without damaging it. Any suggestions or know a business that can restore them? Thanks in advance

I have been successful installing the speed nuts prior to the installation on the fenders so that if needed you can "open up" the hole if necessary so that you don't break the stud off by excessive force.
