1969 - Orphans / `69 M-21 79N687476
« on: October 18, 2016, 03:46:09 AM »
came across this tonight on my facebook timeline, 1969 M-21 with hurst competition plus shifter (flat handle) shifter. I assume it`s a camaro part judging by the VIV he offered  79N687476 he is asking 650.00 for it. he said it has 3000 miles since rebuild. I`m not sure if I can post a link for it as it`s a closed page so it may not work.

just wondering if any of you Cali guys are going to the nostalgia drag racing march meet this weekend ? i went to the first round of qualifying today, great weather, lots of cool drag cars and 2 more days of drag racing to go still. got a nice mild sunburn today, sure beats the Minnesota cold that i have been in the last 4 months  :)

Restoration / carb linkage to carb hookup
« on: June 02, 2014, 10:47:12 PM »
i got my carb installed on my dz but was wondering what hole the linkage went through. i have never had the original carb on the car yet, just an out of the box 750cfm auto parts store carb. i searched  but could not find a good close up pic of the proper hole to locate it into. aslo wondering if the is a nylon washer and what goes into the linkage hole to hold the rod to the linkage. thanks in advance for any info. oh, will post some pics when it is done, had Jerry M restore it a few months back.

Originality / choke thermostat cover and linkage
« on: April 09, 2014, 05:56:11 PM »
hey guys, I was wondering if anybody could post a good close up pic of the thermo cover and linkage assembly for me. mine is long gone and I just want to see how they are properly installed. John Z posted a good engine bay pic but the fuel block was right in the way of the thermo cover.  I bought the spring assembly and cover but still missing the linkage rod. might just buy the kit repo to get the parts I need but still would like to see the proper installation. thanks guys  ???

« on: February 07, 2014, 01:02:00 AM »
i read on the internet a few years back ( i know, don`t believe what you read on the net) that DZ carbs were milled out to a true 800 cfm by Chevrolet. i would guess the reason being truth in advertising ? was wondering if that rumor is true ?

General Discussion / reproduction spark plug wires
« on: January 11, 2014, 06:53:14 PM »
i was wondering if anyone has used the reproduction plug wire sets on cars with headers ? i have  hooker headers and the clearance is tight on the #6 tube. i burned through a wire with some aftermarket wires, otherwise it seems like the rest might have enough room. any input would be great, thanks

pic of my `69 z28. i bought it from the 2nd owner in 1996, he got it in 1970 for graduation. i bought the car with 35,000 miles and most all the important stuff is still on it. motor, trans, rear, alt, starter, front shocks, carb, distrub, etc.
