There are other Garnet Red 69 Z cars out there, just have to be patient to find an original, or a nice correct resto.

Or you could just buy a Hugger Orange one because thats what everyone really wants anyway :) ...( Sorry Austin couldn't help myself).  Speaking of Garnet Red 69 Z's I vote we go back to Indiana later this summer and pick yours up. Truck and trailer are at the ready just say the word..

It looks very good the way it is Jack.. :)     Did it originally have a white vinyl top??

No on the white top..Its a 72 B car like yours and as near as I can figure it lost the top and got white stripes about 15 years ago. So along with the top I'm going to repaint the stripes black as well.

Restoration / Reinstalling Vinyl Top

So I've decided to put the vinyl top back on my car and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Maybe I'm over thinking this but I feel like this isnt a project I want to take on myself because A) Ive never done it before and B) The original mounting pins were all removed when the car was painted years ago. So that said, I'm hoping someone here might know of someone in the Southern California area that they could reccomend. And while I'm at it anyone have any original trim pieces that they might be willing to part with? Thanks....

69 Zee..If you have the vin you might want to post it here for future searches. With RS and the color combo seems to me this car is a candidate to do the magic morph into a numbers matching car.

I'm going to guess its this car http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Camaro-Z-28-1969-Camaro-RS-Z-28-Project-Car-/121358494508?forcerrptr=true&hash=item1c4187ab2c&item=121358494508&pt=US_Cars_Trucks . If I'm right I think I would ask what your intentions are. If you plan to restore it for a profit then you would probably need to get it for free because without the original engine and trans the cost to restore it is likely going to exceed the finished value. Having said that it wouldnt surprise me to see someone pay 15k for it. Neat color combo.

going up for auction next year in scottsdale, wonder if the green 69 z28 will be there?
Is that the one with the 'RS' on the grille, the questionable history, the previous owner who surfaced and then disappeared amidst threats against him after commenting that the VIN attached to it came from a car he scrapped years prior, and that went for something like $129,000 a few years back

Classic Gary aren't you the previous owner?

Anybody have a pic of the trim tag for the 68 Yenko?

Someone else got the tag photo and posted it over on Team Camaro

Went to Indy today and saw this car in person. As others have mentioned there are plenty of  things that are not right with it. For example, take a look at the attached photo of the firewall/cowl area. Not only is it a hard line between the colors but ithe black is wrapped up on the cowl as well. PTB stamps look like they were painted on by a kid. I wish someone could explain to me whats driving the price because I dont get it. I get that its a one off color and is heavy optioned but for my 450k (not that I have it lol) think I would much rather of had the 1300 mile 1968 Yenko parked next to it that sold for 320k. That car was absolutely gorgeous.
