Hmm, could this be the block that goes to this former race car discussed on the Yenko site??

Nice catch Austin...I wonder if this will help to solve the mystery of the "Hog Wild" trim tag. Earlier in this thread I threw out that based on the pad date the vin might start with start with 615. Looking at it again 615 might be early but 616 or 617 makes way more sense then 627. I spent a little time researching early March DZ motors when I was trying to figure out what date my 3B vin 614xxx should have. My best guess for my car ended up being 0304. By vin 617xxx DZ dates were already 0312. From my admittedly small sample seems to me a vin of 627007 should have a motor somewhere around 0325. For instance vin 627703 is 0325. Hmmm indeed...

How would someone prove they own a car that the vin ends in 007, must only be several thousand of them in that time frame, would have been better off with the front half  or front 4 of the vin.
Should have given the first 3 because with a pad date of 0310 you can figure the whole vin would be 615007

Can't get the pic's much better. Never seen a baby "MO" stamp like that, and all crooked??? Guess I am about to learn something... Danny

I may have been to quick to label it a restamp.I bet your right that were going to learn something here. Never seen a hand stamped MO before. Its so bad that I cant help but wonder if its some kind of factory correction, everything else on the pad looks good.

I've search around on the net looking for that color combo on another Z.  I just wanted to see what it'd look like finished.  I've yet to find one (I'm sure they're out there).

Stumbled on this video...Dusk blue Z white stripes and white vinyl top..Complete with the infamous Caution Fan sticker lol...

The FOX Sports 1 commentator is April Rose and she spent quite probably 30 seconds or so with my car before moving on to another ride.  Picture below isn't the best - hard to take a good photo off of the tv, but anyway you get the idea.

Now when you say the pictures not the best are you referring to your car or April Rose? :)...
I was there and actually saw both your car and April Rose. Took the time to check both out. I was going up the escalator while April was coming down. Im not sure all the body panels were original but man what a sweet ride...Thats actually very cool that you made it on the broadcast. Maybe I'll see you next year we had a great time this year and have already made plans to go back. Check out the 5 Z28's that were all together over at Victoria Square.

CRG Research Report
1967-69 Camaro Emission Systems

In 1968 and 1969, the California and federal emissions requirements were the same and all cars were built to the same 50-state standard. The AIR system was installed on all L6 cars with manual transmissions, all small blocks with manual transmissions, and all Camaros with big blocks.

It sounds to me that unless you have paperwork to back up a COPO claim, an X44 can be a plane Jane?
Mike

Yep..Thanks the point. The tag is basically worthless and he wants $225 for it. I'd love to know what offers he declined..

Yep..No doubt this one is fake. Any pics of the car? It would be interesting to see if in addition to the tag being fake if they screwed up on yhe trim as well and coded it X77 when it should have been X33.

I have a question about the stampings. The partial vin on the transmission and engine do not match. (for instance the font on the 6s is clearly different ). I just recently learned that there are in fact documented cases of this happening but I thought I read they were all really late in the year. This car has a 5A build date. Anyone able to shed some light on this? Did it in fact happen throughout the model year?
