61  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: 69 Z/28 Correct leaf springs, where to buy? on: December 02, 2013, 07:45:37 PM
Bob Harris springs were put in last year and no issues at legends.   Put rem oil on and they look and sit great.  He has many hard to find parts and I should know I've used him a lot this past year

I want to tighten the ps line on the back of the box without taking the box off.  Is there a special angled wrench available?  What size?  It's an original box on my 69 z

64  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / cleaning a caliper on: November 13, 2013, 03:21:24 PM
I am trying to clean what I see as surface rust starting to form on my calipers and want to seal them with some form of oil/sealer.  Before I do that, any ideas on how to clean the surface rust without messing with the finish?

Thanks for any help
65  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / REM OIL on: November 04, 2013, 11:37:19 AM
I have purchased rem gun oil and it seems to be the choice for coating painted and unpainted parts, bolts, ect...  Applied with a small brush to parts on the car and it seems to work well.

Has anyone else used this oil?  WD 40 seems to evaporate after a day or so.

Thanks for the input

A 69z face towards the rockers?  The are attached to the floor and the passenger side faces the tranny and driver side clip faces the rocker
67  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / rust preventer on: October 17, 2013, 01:53:00 PM
Was wondering what people use on metal parts and nuts and bolts to prevent rust?  My car really never sees the road and thought maybe a motor oil may help prevent this?

Any input is greatly appreciated Grin

Probably put a dehumidifier in the garage to avoid a wet floor.  Should set it at 50 %
69  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / storage on: October 08, 2013, 10:34:24 AM
I have a couple cars one being a 69 z.  I have a finished garage in the northeast with heat.  What is the best way to store the car for the winter.  Last year I put plastic under the car, rolled up carpet under the tires disconnect the battery, kept the heat at 55 degrees and put a fan in the garage.  Is there anything I may be missing to avoid any condensation ect??

thanks scoop.  Larry C. tells me a little spatter on the latch with the body paint wouldn't hurt and that is what we did.  Thanks

Is the bell housing on a 1969 z completely painted orange or just overspray on the top?

If anyone has pix that would be great.  Thanks
73  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / trunk latch on 69 z on: August 21, 2013, 11:05:03 AM
Is the trunk latch painted body color or the spatter paint on a 1969 z 04D Van Nuyys car?  I know the latch attached to the deck lid is body color.

If someone has pictures that would be great.  thanks

75  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Looking for correct bolts on: July 23, 2013, 11:24:31 AM
Looking for the correct bolts for the exhaust hangers in the rear of my 69 z 28.  Also looking for the correct bolt for my fan shroud (top), the voltage regulator hardware and the radiator hardware.

Thanks for any input.
