Originality / vaccum hose connection
« on: April 22, 2014, 03:06:02 PM »
I saw a picture of john Z engine and noticed that the hose off the vac advance on the distributor goes to the carb and I am confused.  I thought it went to the metal tube that is capped so it seems on John Z picture of his engine??

Looking at the pix of the engine above, where is the engine hook?? The spark plug wire arm is on the last bolt on the manifold, my understanding that it is on the 2 to last and the engine hook is on the last with a shouldered bolt???  Maybe I cant see it

Originality / rear signal issue
« on: February 10, 2014, 04:55:39 PM »
The passenger rear signal works sometimes and sometimes not so I tracked the dark green wire to the terminal under the steering column and jiggled it and it works so I am guessing its at the terminal.  Question is how are the wires put into the terminal?  I don't see any screws to hold them in?  are the just shoved in there?  Thanks for input

well checked the horns by wiring them to the battery and they work fine so I think the 830 relay has an issue.  Going to get it replaced at Bob Harris' and see if it is fine.  Mine being an 04D its the black plastic not clear correct?

Originality / horn relay
« on: February 02, 2014, 09:02:31 PM »
can a faulty horn relay cause your horns to sound sick or would it be one of the horns.  I had the relay changed out for an original one reconditioned and now my horn sounds like a dying cow lol.  Is the horn relay a thing thta either works or dosent?  My horns worked before with a repo relay

Originality / reverse light switch
« on: February 02, 2014, 08:24:20 PM »
I know that the reverse light switch is located on he steering column on 69 z 28's.  My question is when I use the reverse lock mech. and the car is in reverse with the shifter all the way forward my reverse lights do not work.  If I back off on the shifter lever about half inch the reverse lights go on.  Is there an adjustment on the switch to activate the reverse lights when the shifter is all the way forward?

Thanks for any help with this
