Decoding/Numbers / NOS rear quarter panel louver
« on: October 16, 2014, 11:43:57 PM »
Hi all,

I ordered NOS 8701059 and 8701060 rear quarter louvers. I received 2 louvers with stampings 8724408 and 8724409 and the 4 tips (for screws) are rusted (the rest is nice). Is the 8724408 and 8724409 OEM NOS? I know 8701059 and 8701060 are the right numbers. Your opinions..

Thanks

Does your bolt have an anchor image on top? Is it a light silver color?

Hi

I am searching for the bolts that hold the front wheel openings mouldings for my 1969 Camaro. I have the small screws for the back mouldings but the front seem to need bolts. I read somewhere the bolt is Part Number 3853846, AMK products page 103 under GM horns (same bolt that holds the horns onto hood latch).

Is this true or where can I get these bolts? I want the most original possible.

Thanks

Jack

Originality / Door stricker
« on: September 22, 2014, 02:27:12 AM »
Hi,

What was the color of the door stricker on a 1969 Camaro? Was it the simple Zinc steel color or painted? I saw NOS black ones on ebay....

Mines have to be changed because the sleeve is loose.

Thanks

Hi

I am changing the pins and bushings on my door hinges. I noticed the hinges are painted the same color as my car.

What was the original color of these hinges?

1969 camaro ss.

Hi

I found that the application code is 1942. This was for a 1971-1972 A-Body. SO I will be replacing mines for a 9204 booster.

There are many on the market. What will be the best date be for a camaro 1969  12D Norwood?

Is a date code 311 or 321 better?

Thanks

Decoding/Numbers / Brake Booster code and date stamp

HI,

I have notice that the application code for the booster stamped on a tab on the top right of the booster is 2083 for my Camaro 1969.  The Julian date is stamped on the other side of the tab is 1942. My code should be 9204, having disc brake in front.

My booster belongs to which car?  Julian Date 1942, can that be?

Please see picture of tag with application code. You will notice that the code is stamped up-side-down.

Thanks
