Seat covers look parchment. But they are pretty new looking along with the door panels. Looks like an am radio which should put the antenna on the rear.

The ME is a 1967 327 210 HP motor with powerglide trans. There would be no partial VIN for this application. Awesome sounding car though. the only difference between 210 HP and 275 + HP is a set of heads and a 4 barrel carb add a little cam. All easily found online in date correct stuff. Or just drive it the way it is.

Lace paint jobs were old news, fender flares and shoe box hood scoops were garish. Gas prices forced most to be put away. The first inkling they might be valuable as #s matching original cars was becoming known. Northern cars such Ohioscott's probably had some early rust issues from being winter driven. My 69 had its first paint job in 1974 that I know of. One thing I can tell you before the internet parts were very hard to find.

Well unless he is an Expert in First Gen Camaro's its unlikely he would be able to "certify" it as a Z28. First is drive train stampings, real or fake ? Trim Tag real or fake. Hidden Vin does it match the dash VIN. Does it have the Protecto Plate or any other documents and can he tell fake from real ones. You would have to ask the Experts here and post all the pics they want to Verify all the parts as real Z28 parts.

Rally Sport with no back up lights ? Squared corners for the Vin plate access. I would guess major work has been done, just not very well. Oh I would run away very fast !

I can give you a "possible" explanation. When we build out a model. Gm would give us the final total needed. That is what we would produce about 3 weeks to 4 weeks ahead. Its possible Rossford did not have the second Gen contract and were busy producing whatever replacement contract they got to take its place "OR" spent three weeks producing the second Gen glass. Our plant (Collingwood opened in 1968 and did not temper glass until 1970 I believe) Its likely Lathrope was going to produce all the aftermarket glass and was still in production and in the mad scramble to build more 69's was the only option for three weeks while Rossford got there production schedules in order to start production again.
You can imagine this was a nightmare scenario for all parts suppliers.
Again only a possible explanation.

Butcher job on the rear seat partition. No bottom bar for it. The package tray fold over is terrible. With that VIN on the oil filter and tranny there should be D80 on the trim tag and the antennae on the front fender.

I am not an expert but there is something else stamped behind the M and it "looks" like it has been ground sideways to the broach marks behind the MO. The experts will certainly chime in on this to as I don't like the fonts on the VIN. But l know little about LA stamps
