What was used as the spare was put into rotation around first two years of the car. By 70-71 all five wheels were off and in the rafters. In 76 one was grabbed for a custom wheel cover and thrown in the trunk for a show. In 89 I had radials mounted (keeping the bias plies) on four wheels. The one posted ended up on the driver's rear,,,for 32 years. In my mind's eye, all wheels were numbered, this one standing out. Chick questioned/corrected me. When I took a look at the wheel (covered and in storage since 76,,no number) With the new tires mounted,,well #10 made it's way back to rear driver's. What was used as the "spare" left un-restored, original tire mounted.

Also is a pic of my tank,#10. Heater box, well just may have got sick of shooting pics for a bit, cannot find one. I'm at the point of having shot over a thousand at this time (document, document) Probably buried in a file.

Sorry, not posting my pad pic.

may be here, or yenko I read the post. someone out there renting a gangstamp?? so you can have a "correct numbers match engine" I'm out on showing a simple comparison.

I usually can care less what's  for sale, only a few ever irk me. this is an example of one. An insult to anybody who has spent thousands of hours trying to "get it right" A poor facsimile of good. IMHO

Private owner, different story.
Guy posting his finished project, or at a show: thumbs up!

Of course,  if this does pull coin,,ramps um all up. Until the economy re-adjusts.

Ad is very deceptive, leading, and "playing" with words.
"Numbers matching" is really just a loose, over used description any more. If somebody was to go 98k on this one and had issues, a fair attorney could get the seller out of it.

Danny pointed out those gaps,,any takers on filler?

My guess car will go for a bit under 98K, and if buyer saves say 30%,,what a deal..

I've read "mixed" opinions, but having one with this option is actually pretty nice. Years ago, can't remember where we trailered to, but for whatever reason the wife and I threw our suit cases back there. Nice fit.

They were on to something, really wouldn't be years later until mainstream, in everything.

As far as your part, and Indy's words ring so true 👍, may be one of those compromises.

A plus when these finds get put back into circulation.

Lol! Amen brother on "sometimes compromises"  swear, was just thinking that yesterday with a small detail on the car...just can't let them add up.

Post phosphate: had better results quenching in mystery oil right out of the pot. (per Chick). Also, everything gets a wipe down, periodically, with Rem oil. They make wipes. Easy because car lives on a lift.

Restoration / Re: Rally Wheel Paint
« on: December 04, 2021, 02:38:38 PM »
From what I read on the site, yes.
From my own wheels, yup.
Runs are obvious on the front, with actually just a thin coat of silver. Yup, overspray on the rear.

Just did mine a few weeks ago, if I haven't already, I'll post.

Came out great, but not pulling a muscle patting myself on the back, lol. Wheels vgc, cleaned, scuffed, LITE coat of paint, had about two hours into them.
