Restoration / Restoring original exhaust.
« on: January 29, 2016, 01:45:21 AM »
Need some input, after giving some thought...hell has frozen over.  After 48 years come Spring, think I'm hanging the original exhaust back on it when come time. Concerning the pipes and muffler, any suggestions as far as coatings? Not going on it looking like this. Want to keep the aluminized appearance. Or will just cleaning them up, and out of the weather keep it looking new? System was literally a take off.

Who is keeping track of the numbers now that Ed no longer does? Now that I'm in the process of reassembly(when I can),I'm continuing to document. Last I was emailing them out to him.

Very pleased with what arrived in the mail today. Matches my originals, labeled and packaged well for organization.

Restoration / battery hold down bolt
« on: October 20, 2014, 06:34:01 PM »
anybody have an extra one in the bin?
also looking for hood hinge to fender bolts. Hinge to hood were still in the hood luckily (32 years)  I believe they are the same as the hinge to fender.  Dropping the front clip tomorrow so back to it. Black phosphating in the near future so they don't have to be pretty. Just sound. Remember when these things used to be laying in the dirt at the junkyard? Whoda thunk?

shoot me an email---thanks,steve

Asking everyone to take a moment today and give a prayer to the Fire fighters who gave their lives trying to help those who were unable to help themselves. Also remember the other first responders who are suffering from secondary effects. And the families of those innocent victims.

Maintenance / technical articles by JohnZ
« on: August 09, 2014, 07:02:55 PM »
Reminder, for those that do not know , JohnZ has posted a series of wonderful articles pertaining to timing , cooling system ,valve adjustment etc.  Written in easy to understand format pertaining to principal/ troubleshooting. I've posted before : great as a refresher or a must read if you are just getting in to theses old cars. Just click on Technical Articles on the home page.

Would help many a poster from running in circles when they are having some issues and are looking for help. Take the time to read over these first , everybody here likes to lend a hand so to speak, and some of the replies just might seem a little clearer. Unfortunately, you just can't stop by with a 12 pack ;)
