Originality / Re: 1969 Pace Car Replicas – Original door decals

Judging by the old UPS stamp on the box, I would suggest that they are an early example of reproductions. Is there a GM part number printed anywhere on the box or the materials inside? This is always a hot topic on the Pace Car Registry as to whether or not they were delivered with the car.

I got my 69 BB Radiator back today from AAugusta in Greenville SC. Two weeks to the day (with Holiday). Stopped by James' (FirstGenAddict) shop. He was droolin" LOL.
Anyway, I spoke to the owner Roy. He saved the tanks and the top and bottom rails. Everything was cleaned and painted. Here are some pictures to see the work.

I can't explain to others not getting them to pick up. It's a busy shop and his daughter Tiffany answers the phone.
If someone wants to send their radiator to me I will take it directly to them, pick up and ship back to you. LMK

FYI: Greenville Radiator is actually AAugusta Road Radiator Shop, Inc. , 3488 Augusta Rd. Greenville, SC 29605, Roy Young is the owner, Phone is:1-864-277-2928.
I stopped by James' (firstgenaddict) shop this morning and we figured out the name change. BTW double AA in Augusta for shop name is correct
They quoted me $600 and 2 weeks for my 4 row curved neck radiator for re-coring. He knew the significance of the unit. As James stated they've done work for others on here.
I'll post pictures of it when I get it back.

Greenville Radiator in Greenville SC will recore correctly with the original rails,
$600 the last 2 I know of were done in less than a month (COPO CHEVELLE and LS5 AC Corvette).
Guy with the copo chevelle a month or so ago stated he was great to work with.
James, Can you post contact information? I can't seem to find them on the internet. Ready to take my original rad in for re-coring.
Thanks, Rich

I've found plenty of information about the original dealerships for my cars and others at www.newspapers.com. Sometimes you get lucky and find a advertisement for the car you're researching.
I've also checked the Secretary of State business web sites (for the state in question) to find when dealerships started and ended. This can be helpful when starting a search timeframe on newspapers.com.
Good Luck,
Rich

I bought a new set of Orange deluxe door panel from Al Knoch for my Z11. The fit was perfect. Absolutely no issues. My old ones had speaker holes cut in them.

Restoration / Re: Stripe Template
« on: July 08, 2021, 12:49:51 AM »
Stencils & Stripes, but don't use the supplied drawing that comes in the kit. Trust me...

Care to elaborate?
Sure. I've used Stencils & Stripes for many years on several cars (D90 and DX1) As noted above, many hours required to "get it right". I was specifically referring to the 1969 Z/28 striping on the deck lid. The drawing they include with the kit is layout based on a sampling (measuring) of one car. As we all know these stripes weren't all perfect from the factory, but the drawing in this kit is way off and when laying it out with fine-line tape it became apparent that it wasn't going to be good. The RH deck lid stripe is skewed to the right and the left is kinda straight, but doesn't go far enough to the left to incorporate the "o" on the Camaro emblem. I re-taped it using the dimensions from the AIM with better results. I looked at many pictures of "original paint" cars on this sight and others along with old magazine photos from my collection.
BTW, Ralph of Stencils & Stripes in Park Ridge, IL is a great guy. I've spoke to him on several occasions, he's very helpful.
Hope this helps someone.
