76  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Research Topics & Reports / Re: Earliest 3969341 and Latest 3894860 axles on: July 06, 2014, 08:04:29 PM
Hope this helps.
Here is my 07A X77 rear stamping and casting date photos. With the Norwood factory shutting down July 11th and not starting up again until August 11th I think my car would have been one of the last Z's built before the shutdown. My NCRS production date was July 10th.

VIN 9N6687XX
BU 0630 G2
E 26 9 casting date
#860NF

Eldon, there for a minute you had me thinking you had one of those super rare X77 TT Van Nuys cars Smiley

Sold for $12K  If he paid the $9500. that the first seller wanted plus expenses he couldn't have made more than a grand or two profit if that.

Eddie, whether I try to go completely factory correct or not with the overspray etc, your car is amazing. But I will admit I am one of those biased HO guys Smiley Would love to see more detailed pictures of your car. I can only hope mine someday comes out half as nice as yours from what I see in Gary's pictures.
Would have loved to attended this Carlisle event!
82  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / 1111480 Distributor Stamp on: June 30, 2014, 01:47:39 PM
A friend of mine needs a correct 480 distributor for his car and is looking at buying this one. I say a restamp. The area around the critical numbers look filed. I hate to see him get taken. What do you guys think?
Thanks!

Thanks for the pictures Gary!  Man that HO car caught my eye. Absolutely beautiful. I do have a question though and I'm not picking just trying to learn. I notice that on Eddie's car and the green Yenko that they decided to go with a more taped paint line on the top of the cowl instead of the overspray look that you see so often. Again not picking just trying to learn for when the day comes and I start the restoration and I TRY to make my car as nice as Eddie's. I was looking back on the "1969 Z28 Cowl" thread that was posted just a few weeks ago and especially at the pictures that Kurt posted. You can see the body color paint overspray coming down over the black cowl and if I am seeing it right it even oversprays the TT some. I have always heard that is the way they were painted from the factory but after seeing these amazing pictures I was just wondering if some were taped off?? Maybe it has been discussed here before so I will also do some research.
Again, great job Eddie! Same color combo as my X77 car minus the RS and Crossram  Smiley

At $12,000. now, a long way from the $23,000. he was first dreaming of. I no longer see a buy it now or a reserve.
Also I notice that the first seller stated "Selling a REAL 69 RS Z-28 project car that I picked up 8 years ago in central Florida from the original owner which had sat in his backyard since he blew the motor in 1975"
The new sellers "barn find" description, "
THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING SINCE 1975 WHICH MEANS IT HAS NOT BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR 39 YEARS, THE OWNER JUST LEFT THE CAR AT HIS BARN IN LEESBURG FLORIDA AND LEFT TO THE U.S MILITARY.

Typical flipper/car salesman garbage.

Did you recently purchase it and now trying to resell?  In the ebay ad that ended June 7th you are the seller. Not that it matters just curious.
Very nice looking car!

Wow, he really dropped the price a bunch. Maybe he heard the word was out that the car is bogus and he is trying to unload it for deal    Shocked
89  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: whats up with this Z on: June 18, 2014, 09:57:44 PM
Its no longer on craigslist. Maybe a scam? Sure seems to be a lot of scams on craigslist. Or I suppose it had been sold for a few days and just hadn't been removed yet.
