76  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: perfectly imperfect? on: October 07, 2014, 01:08:18 PM
Yes, Chevelles were built at the (Z) Fremont plant at that time and that's common for the stampings to be very irregular. My 66 SS Chevelle has the born with 396 325hp big block and the stampings look the same way.
My book decodes your block as you said, 327 300hp with manual trans.

The original Brake Booster Hose Bracket
Darrell, do you see any GM part number like this stamped on your brake booster hose? I just noticed this one on mine.  My car has never been restored, so if this hose is not the original it was a service replacment many years ago. Anyone know if it is the original or not?

Welcome, can you post some pictures of the roller including the trim tag and VIN tag? How rusty is it? Any key Z/28 components left, such as the 12 bolt rear, multi leaf springs? I noticed you also posted over on Team Camaro. You will get lots of good advice and opinions with some good pictures.

82  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Old Ebay auction link on: September 30, 2014, 09:22:41 PM
Someone posted a link a few months ago on one of the treads here that would let you look back several years at old Ebay auction results. I have looked and looked for that thread and link but just can't find it. Anyone have that link?
Please and thank you!

Man that's great Darrell. Between all of the original parts and history that you have and are continuing to gather for your car, it just keeps getting better and better.
84  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: What's the correct Alternator bracket for a 69 Z/28 on: September 19, 2014, 07:27:15 AM
I dont know which is correct but from what I know there is a weird bushing that goes through the bracket for the air pump-so the pulley lines up- maybe one is stamped different and doesent use the bushing? I also would like to see pics of correct one
I posted a picture of mine with the bushing still there over on Darrell's other "Garage/Barn find" thread thats showing all the parts and numbers from his car. Its on page 9. reply 133

you might have to remove the capacitor to see it. 9 would be the year and the letter would be the month
86  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 69 Z/28 X77 garage/barn find on: September 11, 2014, 08:10:25 PM
Darrell, there should also be a date on the left side of the capacitor bolt. It should say 12V N and right below that maybe a 9A,B or C if it is the original for your car. It sure looks like it should be the original.

Like Bentley said, looks like there was an early and late lid. Now I wonder when the change took place?
