General Discussion / Re: Silver Z pictures from 1971 with second owner
« on: January 12, 2014, 01:25:28 AM »
Here are the pictures from my original owner that I posted over on Team Camaro a few months ago. I know a lot of you are on that site as well and maybe saw it but thought maybe some on here have not.
Also an update on the Yenko. After the post I was contacted by the Yenko guys and with Merlin's help I did track down the Deuce and talked to the last registered owner that totaled it out in the late 70's. It was then parted out :(

It just doesn't get any better than that. Very nice!! I was lucky enough to make contact with the original owner of my 69 Hugger Orange Z and he sent me original polaroid pictures of it when it was new and then the car he purchased next. A Hugger 70 Yenko Deuce with him leaning against the fender.
Lawrence, like me I'm sure it made your day when you received them.   Congrats!

We are looking today at a 69 Z11 pace car. We have it on the lift as we type. Here is the cowl tag and engine pad stamp. Could the experts please give me your opinion on both. Your help would be appreciated greatly.  The VIN is 124679N614xxx.

General Discussion / Re: 69 Z/28 survivor on Ebay

Thanks Lawrence, very interesting read.
Like I said when I started this thread, these survivor cars are very intriguing. Definitely sounds like you got the better deal even though the orange car sounds very rare and cool. Just over priced some.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

To add a question about these manifolds if I could. I know all the 4 spd small block cars in 69 came with smog. Did any of the small block, automatic SS 300 hp 350's ever come from the factory with smog that model year?

These survivor cars are very intriguing.
If the bids are real, this one is bringing some major money.

Lots of good information here...  http://www.camaros.org/drivetrain.shtml

Paul
Ok, I see the turbo 350 trans areas to look at for the VIN and on the pan for the POP code. One just has to hope the pan hasn't been changed.
Thanks Paul!

Just to add. I have read all the info on Z/11's here on the site to help refresh me and have looked for past threads on CRG as well as TC but didn't find much, unless someone knows of some links that I'm just not seeing.
According to the POP the rear is supposed to be  BR 0306G which i have decoded and the trans Y9C03 if I'm reading my handwriting correctly :)

Thanks again!

Originality / Z/11 Pace car questions
« on: December 21, 2013, 05:30:29 PM »
I have passed on a car that I was looking at that had a rusty dash repaired. I am now looking at a Z/11 Pace car, small block, automatic. I will be going to give it a real good inspection next weekend weather permitting. I owned and restored one back in the 90's but might need a refresher course from some of you 69 pace car guys, if you would please.
I know where to check for all the engine numbers but need to find out what the correct casting numbers and heads numbers etc. should be.
Where do I look on the turbo 350 automatic trans for numbers that would match the POP and VIN?
I will take a lot of pictures that I could post for opinions as well later.

Thanks and Merry Christmas
