Built close to my own recent purchase. I have been scanning the pics and description. While it is original, to bad it wasn't better taken care of over the years. I would love to have a few parts on it though. SO it someone on here has to have it, and do a nut and bolt resto, I would be glad to take the old dirty parts off your hands... ;)
Austin, it sure would look good sitting beside your other garnet red car. You sure you don't want to buy it.  :D

This picture was posted over on the Yenko site and I found it very interesting. I know it has been discussed here before as to whether some of the bell housings could have been completely painted as mentioned by JM in the past.

Check out the bell housings painted in this 1970 picture. It seems that it varied from almost none to pretty much completely painted. Notice the differences between the big blocks and small blocks.

Darrell can you bring the picture over to this thread please?

I'm not smart enough :)

The fact that he photographed and showed those questionable items perhaps indicates that he purchased the car that way, and had no personal knowledge of the issues... restamp or not...

I thought the front end was sitting a little high also... the restorer probably bought the same new springs as everyone else does... :)

Questions and issues aside...  'Has there EVER been a more beautiful color combination'???    :)

NO!! :)

I would be ashamed to show a close up of that trans and partial VIN block stamp.
"1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/ Z28 has the correct DZ 302 C.I. (290 HP) V8, I don't know if it's a numbers matching"

That's pathetic!

VIN 124379N577414

You have our full attention, great car and story!
Enjoying the pictures very much!
My opinion is not restore it and to leave it as is for as long as you can. It can always be restored at some point in the future.
Survivor cars are a hot commodity these days!

I know the old saying is "that beauty is in the eye of the beholder" but man that thing is ugly! Just my opinion of course.  :D

Chick, at first he told me that he had no more Manganese too and would not be getting any anytime soon but then I guess he found one bottle that he said someone had ordered in the past but never paid for and offered it to me.

If you are in a pinch for some I'll share half my bottle with you.  :)

The email address above ( is the best and only way to contact Scott (Anthony Owens) that I know of. I just purchased 3 quarts of the Zinc (gray) and he seems to currently have more of that but unfortunately according to him I just bought the very last quart of Manganese (black) that he has. He said he is hoping to have a new source by the end of the year.
I sure hope so because his stuff works great!
