Decoding/Numbers / 69 Z/28 trim tag opinion
« on: February 16, 2019, 05:39:37 AM »
What is the opinion on this trim tag? They must have forgotten about their 2016 video, they admit non original Muncie but the 2019 video and eBay ad claims numbers matching Muncie. Maybe someone can post a picture of the trim tag, I'm not smart enough.

Originality / Bell Housing paint
« on: September 15, 2017, 07:32:23 PM »
This picture was posted over on the Yenko site and I found it very interesting. I know it has been discussed here before as to whether some of the bell housings could have been completely painted as mentioned by JM in the past.

Check out the bell housings painted in this 1970 picture. It seems that it varied from almost none to pretty much completely painted. Notice the differences between the big blocks and small blocks.

Darrell can you bring the picture over to this thread please?

I'm not smart enough :)

I would be ashamed to show a close up of that trans and partial VIN block stamp.
"1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/ Z28 has the correct DZ 302 C.I. (290 HP) V8, I don't know if it's a numbers matching"

That's pathetic!

When I first looked at the photos in the eBay ad I was skeptical. Then I read about it over on Yenko.net.

General Discussion / BJ 69Z now on ebay
« on: May 13, 2017, 09:28:34 AM »
When I saw this car on ebay today I thought it looked familiar. I was at BJ in January 2014 and looked this car over and watched it go across the block. An extensive and expensive restoration but it looks like its turned out to be a bad investment. It sold for $143,000. then. The current seller wants $129,995. or offer.
I remember my buddy that was with me got into a discussion with the seller. He told him that where the rear tail panel meets the quarter panels should not have been filled in. The seller argued that my buddy didn't know what he was talking about. I also noticed that its another one with gauges but no center clock and wrong tail lights.

A beautiful car though!

Front stripes are wrong but Its a good looking car. As usual though they only show Jerry's "Certificate of Authenticity" sheet. The next page would confirm whether Jerry agrees that it is the original born with engine and trans as he claims. They never seem to show those pages. I wrote asking him to show all the MacNeish report pages.
Any thoughts on the engine pad stamp?

I just stumbled onto this Youtube video and thought it was kind of cool. Makes me wish mine was back on the road.
What do you think of his survivor, all original claims and price value?
