We have our spots lined up with clubs for both the new and the old Camaro. Really looking forward to it!

Law is just a couple of years old . They went too far in the other direction. Hopefully coming back to the middke.. .

Older cars are exempt from emissions inspection, restored or not. Not real sure that's a good. Idea ...

I wondered when they started doing the inspections for out of state cars. I'm glad I got mine in before this started, I understand it has been a nightmare. Hopefully the new law will help. As for the emissions, as long as they are not like CA it probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

Funny, I brought my 69 to NC and applied for a title in Feb 2007. They never looked at the car, asked about the car, it was exempt from regular emission inspections and they took my Salvaged Title from CA and gave me a shiny new clean NC one. Kinda scary.

Thanks for sharing. Not a Z/28 but my 69 lived in the same small area until a few years ago. It has been fun to learn about the car and the people at the same time.

Restoration / Re: 69 Dash Grab Handle Conversion Question

I don't know which interior colors had matching assist handles and which interior colors used black instead; my parts book doesn't show ANY assist handles for '69 (Group #14.655), only for '68.

Thank you for the info John.

For what it is worth my car came with the Z87 interior option. My dad purchased the car in '86 from a theft recovery auction and we have confirmed it only had one prior owner. Every indication is the interior was original except for the recovered seats, the steering column that was stolen and the radio. After sitting for almost 20 years we finally took the plunge and she is now sporting the original frost green color and a refreshed interior in the midnight green. This forum has been such a valuable tool and learning about the little details like this has become a second hobby. My car is not all original and several things are no longer "correct" but I love knowing what is and what is not.

My all-original/untouched 02D Norwood Z/28 has the Midnight Green deluxe interior, and the grab handle is clearly midnight green, not black.

Thanks for the info, I learn something new every day. I think this topic was posted in Team Camaro and I replied there before seeing this info. As I said there I'm happy to be corrected.

Could the handles on cars with medium green interiors come in black or is mine not original/wrong? The handles in the dark colors look good but I'm not sure the lighter green falls into that category.

My 69 has 01C  and I120. Production date on the broadcast sheet is Jan 15th.  January 1st  was a Wednesday so the 01C matches if you count the partial week as week 1. The first Monday was the 6th so if I am understanding correct this would be the A day, Tuesday the 7th the B day and so on. If that is the case and assuming a 5 day work week then the 15th would be H? Does that mean an extra day was worked between the 6th and 15th? How does this match up with the 01D U462 from the original post?

The dash handle in my 69 is black and I have every reason to believe it is original. The interior was the medium green deluxe and a Van Nuys car built in Jan 69, not sure if either of those things make a difference.

General Discussion / Re: 69 Camaro Tilt column
« on: January 22, 2013, 09:10:22 PM »
Is there a way to tell if the car originally had a tilt column if the original column is no longer in the car? My car was stolen from the original owner and the steering column removed, we understand because it was a tilt. The car was loaded with options, RS, AC, deluxe interior and power windows so a tilt column would fit right in.
