In this photo you can just see the drivers side front headlight/bumper area of the 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z11 convertible pace car.  It is on the very left side of the photo behind one of the race queens.  That is also the same Ford van that appears in the other two color photos.  Caption for this image states, "Dale Reed excepts his trophy from Janet Reimer for winning the 30-lap Semi-Nationals - Hutchinson Nationals program."

In this second color photo the 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z11 convertible pace car has been parked in the infield on the upper left side of the photo.  The caption for this image states, "This photo was taken just after Herb Copeland drove the Evart Isaac owned #8 modified to victory in the 50-lap championship race.  Isaac also received an award for having the best appearing car entered on this day – Schrater family collection."

This color image shows that a 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z11 convertible was used as the pace car for the Thirteenth Annual National Modified Championship Races held on the half-mile dirt racetrack at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas on Sunday, July 27, 1969.  Notice that there is writing in a matching orange color on the passenger side door but unfortunately it is illegible.  The picture was taken after the final 50 lap race had been run.  Notice how dirty the car is from doing several laps around the dirt track pacing the seven events held at the track that day.

Description and pictures of the event can be seen here: https://kansasracinghistory.com/Hutch_Nationals/Fair/27Jul1969.htm

Caption for this photo states: "Trophy Queen Janet Reimer and her attendants being escorted to the front straightaway on this afternoon for the trophy presentation.  Riding on the deck lid of the car was “Peanuts the Clown” portrayed this day by Tommy Madison...  Schrater family collection."

A 6-page article on 1967 Penske Camaro Number 1 appeared in the November/December 2021 issue of Vintage Motorsport: The Journal of Motor Racing History.  Notice how the car does not sit as high in the front as it did in previously posted photos.

Here are a couple of the souvenir event programs for July 1969 events held at OCIR but neither of them specifically say anything about "3rd Annual All Pro Dragster Championships."  Perhaps it happened on a different weekend??

1) July 5th 1969 event
2) July 26th 1969 event

Here is a photo of a 1969 Camaro Z28 loaded down with passengers with a decal on the door that states, "Beach City Chevrolet."  It was taken at Lions Dragway in Los Angeles, California not OCIR.  Not sure what the item is on the passenger door.  Does anyone know that it is?  It also looks like the trunk lid is open.

The C3 Corvette was replaced by a second generation Camaro dragster.

I do know that the C3 Corvette dragster was destroyed by a fire at OCIR in 1970.

Beach City Chevrolet did sponsor a couple of dragsters in the late 1960's and early 1970's.  One was this C3 Corvette.

Notice in the copy of this hero card that it says, "...if your interested, ask about the 'Beach City 454 Camaro'."  Has anyone heard of this vehicle?  Were any produced?  Since the 1969 Camaro had a prolonged model year could they have installed this engine in a 1969 model year Camaro or was it in a 2nd generation car?  I could not find any information on a Beach City 454 Camaro.

Beach City Chevrolet was located in Long Beach, California which was approximately 35 miles away from OCIR.  I could find very little information on the dealership.

Here is another photo that was also posted with the above image somewhere on Facebook.  It is also date stamped July 1969.  Note that "3rd Annual All Pro Dragster Championships” and “Beach City Chevrolet Hi-Performance Div” are displayed in orange on the front and rear sides respectively.  Also notice that they have removed the bottom portion of the original door sticker.   It looks like it is an RS/SS 350 and that it is wearing Uniroyal tires.

A 1969 Camaro RS/SS Z11 convertible was used in some official capacity at Orange County International Raceway (OCIR) in East Irvine, California sometime in July of 1969.  In this photo you can see the Camaro on the dragstrip with a couple of women sitting on the back.  It was probably taken prior to an event during the pre-race ceremonies.  This photograph has the date stamp of July 1969 indicating that it was developed sometime in July of 1969.

I found it somewhere on Facebook a while back but I can not find it again so I'm not actually sure which Facebook group I found it on.  Nor am I sure what event it was taken at.  UPDATE: I found my notes on where I obtained the photo.  It came from the Memories of OCIR Facebook page.  Since I found it about a year ago the site has gone private.  That is why I couldn't find it again.  My notes also state that the person who posted the photo wrote that the event took place on July 20, 1969 and that it was sponsored by the Professional Dragster Association.

This photo was taken at the 51st Detroit Auto Show.  This event took place November 26th through December 4th, 1966 at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan.  The vehicles in the background and the ceiling lights match the known photo of this event.

It was posted at the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Cars Facebook site: https://www.facebook.com/groups/334308821546204

More photos taken at the same location as the two previously posted ones.  Notice the Golden Cameo and the front of the Californian in the background.
