I posted this picture on the 3rd page of this thread but I mistakenly identified it as the 1971 Watkins Glen Trans Am 2.5.  In reality this picture depicts the start of the 1970 Trans Am U2 event held at Watkins Glen on August 16, 1970.  You can see the 1970 Corvette convertible pace car heading into pit lane just before the cars get the green flag to start the event.  If this Corvette was used to pace the U2 event than it is a safe bet that it was also used to pace the O2 event as well.  The picture came from here: http://transamracing.blogspot.com/2011/02/watkins-glen-trans-am-2.html

I guess it is fitting that we just found this picture of one of his Camaros at the 1971 SCCA Runoffs held at Road Atlanta.

One more from Riverside 1971

Is this one of the ex-Sam Posey Challengers?  I recall someone looking for a good picture of the car during its post 1970 season.

The next 4 are from the Mission Bell 200 held at Riverside International Raceway in Riverside, California on October 3, 1971.

More from Laguna Seca 1970

While the pictures from my previous posts were from 1969, the next 4 pictures were taken at the Trans Am event held at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California on April 19, 1970.

2 more from Laguna Seca 1969

Notice the white 1967 Camaro RS along the fence directly above the #1 Mustang.

The second picture is interesting because it is a sign that used to say "The Hot Spot Mustang Corral" but a Camaro fan altered it to say "Go Camaro The Hot Spot Mustard Corral."

More Laguna Seca 1969

I found some more great Trans Am pictures on Flickr.  Someone named "Carrera RSR" posted 65 color photos of Trans Am events held at both Laguna Seca Raceway and Riverside International Raceway.  The pictures are mixed up but they include shots from 1969, 1970 and 1971.  I will post the photos of the Camaros here but click on the the following link to see larger versions as well as the rest of the fantastic pictures: https://www.flickr.com/photos/wheelock_steve/sets/72157644148754046/

I know I have never seen these before because they contained two great pictures of a Javelin AMX pace car at the 1971 Riverside events that I posted in the Trans Am Pace Car thread.

These first 4 pictures were taken at the Trans Am event held at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California on August 24, 1969.

I just found a couple of great color pictures that show the 1972 AMC Javelin AMX that was used to pace the Mission Belle 200 Trans Am race held at Riverside International Raceway, Riverside, California on October 3, 1971.  The pictures were posted to Flickr by "Carrera RSR."  I'm not sure if this person took these photos or not but I know I have never seen them before.

Other pictures of the car can be seen on page 5 of this thread in replies #64-66 and reply 19 on page 8.  In a few of these earlier posts I mistakenly identified the car as a 1971 model, but since the race took place in October of 1971, it is probably a 1972 model since new car model years usually start in the fall.

The first picture shows the Javelin AMX on the pace lap for the over 2 liter class event while the second picture shows it pacing the under 2 liter class race.
