The LM1 was dropped sometime around the calender year 1969 and replaced by the L69 (I think that's the code) It was a 350 2bbl mated with the new TH350. Being the horsepower had dropped, the 12 bolt rear was no longer required

I'd have put it back to the original color for sure. Nothing wrong with back and white, but the turquoise and white would have been far more appealing, I would think.

I certainly don't want to create a long discussion here, just a comment about our hobby in general. I've enjoyed searching through Ebay for many years looking at only first generation Camaros. (And a few other makes and models). I'm just really getting tired of all the clones, tributes, and recreations. I realize cloning is a good way to enjoy a rare Camaro without the real worry of wrecking it, and that's fine. But we've gone overboard. Now, these so-called classic car dealers are doing it. Complete with fake trim tags.  I don't consider them enthusiasts. I find it sad what is happening to the hobby. I bought my first 67 Camaro in 1982 and I remember back in the 80's how we drooled over  Z's, Yenkos. etc. But now, there are so many well-done clones, when I see a real one is kind of like 'so what?' I'm just saying, I think we've over-indulged. Too many people wanting everything. Over-demand. It's killing the Camaro hobby for me. Just my thoughts anyway..

Thanks everyone. Ya, it was a TH400. The engine and trans are both MIA but the car isn't that rough. I'm looking for the correct year engine

Very cool indeed, Paceme!  Looking at that 67 8-track pic, I don't believe the unit is mounted correctly. How do you get the cartridge in the player? It's looks like that bracket is used only for column shift applications

GI JOE, there are 2 different full floor pans available. But companys claim there is only one. The maker will send either style at ramdom. 67 and 68 use different pans. There's lots of little differences but the main one concerns the transmission tunnel. 67's had a lower profile tunnel in the rear, under the seat. a 68/69 floor pan will work, but you'll have to fabricte your rear axle pinion snubber bracket to make it fit. It's a pain and I was upset when I found the differences but it was too late for my 67..Most repro pans shipped are of the 68/69 variety..Unfortunitly, you wont know which one youre getting until it's shipped to you. The best thing to do is to buy it locally so you can make sure it fits your application.

Here's how to tell a 67 from a 68/69 floorpan: Look at the flange at the rearmost part of the pan. (This is the flange that welds to the trunkpan) if this flange goes directly from lerft side to right side without any interruption from the driveline tunnel, it's a 67. If the tunnel seperates the flande in two, it's a 68/69

There is a crease, center, behind distributor. About 1/2" above that line is the oil line dimple

If you buy 68 69 repro hinges, DONT get the ones that a cadmium plated!!!  They don't fit

I recall a post on Camaros.Net a few years back where a member there had the material checked and it DID NOT have asbestos. However, this is just what I had read there and did not see any conclusive reports

This is a long shot, but both of these cars were stolen from Ft. Lauderdale area.
VIN 124677N212464. White/ red base convertible
VIN 124377N156580  Gold/Black RS/SS coupe. It had it's original 350 and 12 bolt when stolen and was re-painted blue

The first car has been gone since 1985, so little hope the last car was stolen in 2000

Just thought I'd put the VINs out there if anyone comes across either of them. I still have their titles and keys!
