Also check the kick down cable fitting. It's right above the pan so it could look like it's coming from there.

Make sure you're using the correct gasket on the inlet fitting and then after snugging it down gently hold that nut with one wrench while you tighten up the fuel line fitting. A very small amount of anti-sieze on the threads only of the fuel line fitting will allow you to tighten it up without leaks and prevent galling of the threads. If you tighten too much at the carb you will crack the inlet and never fix the leak.

I think L48 had 3/8" lines and L30 had 5/16".  I don't know if there were exceptions but the experts here may chime in.

Ironically, car shows seem to be the safest place. Hood up, windows down, and nobody near their own car. I was thinking more along the lines of not handing your business card with your home address to a stranger right after telling him that you keep your prized Camaro in your garage and that you'll call him when your family gets home from a 2 week vacation.  :o

I like the blocks idea.  I think I'll use jack stands instead because they look better for a car show.  ;D  Seriously though, by practicing a few simple things, it isn't hard to feel comfortable driving and parking many places. If they really want it, they'll figure out a way to get it and there's not much to do if that happens except be prepared with good insurance and possibly a way to recover it.

All great suggestions, with more probably coming. Thanks! I guess I was so focused on "recovery" I hadn't even considered "prevention"

I like to think of anti-theft as 4 strategies: Avoidance (try not to be a target), Deterrence (things that call attention to thieves), Prevention (things that immobilize your car), Recovery (GPS trackers, LoJack, insurance).

To slow them down winching it on a flatbed, park parallel to a wall or block it with another car and turn the wheels so they can't get a straight shot. Don't make anything easy for them. Every little bit MIGHT help.

It hasn't been mentioned yet but if your cooling system is all in good shape and you are still overheating maybe it's related to timing.  From JohnZ's Timing 101 paper: "Anyone with a street-driven car without manifold-connected vacuum advance is sacrificing idle cooling".  Are you using ported or manifold vacuum?

I have a '67 LOS 2A car with AC and PB from the factory.  The line routing is as depicted in UPC5 and J50, not the C60 picture.

The only obvious thing you're missing is the obvious.  Shoes are old and worn, fluid is old and low, brake lines are old and possibly rusted out, brake parts are probably rusty and dirty. If all of that stuff is really original and 49 years old with 50,000 miles then it needs a complete brake rebuild to be safe on the road.  I don't want to be in front of you going 55 mph if I have to stop fast!  I was a noob when I did mine and it isn't that hard. Just take your time and do it right or find someone that can do it for you. Do a complete brake rebuild on all 4 wheels, possibly even replacing the cylinders, check and replace any hard brake lines needing it, replace all soft lines.  Drain ALL of the old fluid out at all 4 corners and flush some new fluid through before bleeding all the air out.  There are youtube videos for all of this and lots of help here and at Team Camaro.
