1  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Frederick Nationals ... on: June 26, 2014, 07:39:19 AM
This was my first trip to the Nationals and I was very impressed with the work everyone has put in these cars. I am restoring a low mileage 68 L78 and will be back to study over the next few years.

Larry (scoop) brought a car that raised my expectations of where I need to take my restoration. Thanks for the great info everyone.

Dan

OK, Thanks everyone.

I will check tonight as I may have not looked hard enough at the drivers door.

Can someone tell me if this the norm or could it have been in any configuration.

1968 SS L78 (Original mileage 9977 & original paint)

D90 stripes configured in the following fashion.

Nose and to the front of the wheel wells is painted.

Drivers side, rear of wheel well to door is a decal and door is painted.

Passenger side, rear of wheel well and door are decals.

Passenger side is correct.

Steve

Thanks, where did you get the info to confirm this and should the drivers side be the same? I will look at it again.

7  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 69 Z28 Carb accel linkage and vacuum hardline? on: May 08, 2013, 08:45:02 AM
Here are 2 photos of the steel tubes I purchased and 1 that I made to fit.

I have purchased the one from Heartbeat and it does not fit with the Z28 intake. I will make one. Measure the two and post it for info.
I have compared the repro to our original and it was the same and fits great. What bracket are you using to hold the steel vac. line?

Do you have a picture?

Sounds like a solution, Thanks John

No, because when you place it in the clip and maintain it level the rise is to short. And if you try end remove bends and re-bend it will look re-bent, steel is not good bendable material. I will keep looking.

Thanks

Does any one know where to purchase the steel vacuum tube for the advance. I have bought 2 but they are both bent wrong and once installed in the clip are about 1/2 -3/4" lower than the port on the carb.

Need to find the correct one.

Hans

Where did you order the repro ones you thought we're wrong from?
