General Discussion / JH code 12-14-68 block on eBay
« on: March 10, 2018, 04:02:57 PM »
Someone's original JH 375 horse block is on eBay - I can see a VIN, but not distinct enough to read. This is extremely close to the build date of the spare JH I have, within a day - 12/14/68 is the build date on the pad.

Good luck if you are looking for a match !

Originality / X66 standard trim
« on: February 01, 2018, 05:44:03 AM »
I would like to resurrect a discussion we had about 5 years ago concerning quarter panel molding usage on X66 SS cars compared to X22's. Is there (documentation) of an option listing that verifies the mandatory installation of quarter moldings ? I remember the statement about all SS's had them, but I've seen several examples over the years of cars equipped like mine - vinyl top, not Style Trim, no quarter moldings. Could my 12A build SS be something other than an X66, or maybe just one of those line errors that appear from time to time ?

The pic of the Yenko storage lot that circulated years ago shows a car (which I would guess could be an X44) with a vinyl top and no quarter moldings, no Style Trim either. I seen a good number of Yenkos without them. If someone has that pic on file, please post it again if you don't mind.

Steve

General Discussion / Norwood film documentary
« on: July 03, 2017, 02:38:04 AM »
Anyone seen the advertisement of the Norwood film documentary in the works ? All I could locate within the database was the discussion surrounding the "Echoes of Norwood" book in 2013. This postcard-sized ad I have lists the website www.NorwoodLegends.com , doesn't appear connected with the "Echoes" book, but I did see a mention of this documentary in the original 2013 thread, nearly the same description.

Just curious -

Any one catch this particular car today ? I just happened to turn it on right at the start; the mid-auction talk up by Jerry really boosted the sale. Pretty car, too - very well presented. Wonder who was the lucky (past) owner ?

General Discussion / Camaros spotted on MSN article
« on: October 25, 2015, 04:23:07 AM »
If I can get this link to work, check out Mr. Shauger's collection from an article on MSN about Hershey muscle cars:

Not bad, not bad at all, Steve - I wouldn't kick them out of the garage for acting up.

General Discussion / '69 LOS Pace Car opinions
« on: August 20, 2015, 03:17:51 AM »
I'm not as familiar with Van Nuys built Pace Cars, so you West Coast guys take a gander at this one and tell me what you think. Outside of the dreaded Ford fan sticker, it's a pretty decent looking car, with a number of small details that need changing. My largest questions are trim tag, and the "L" code the seller represents in the ad. Take a look -
