jon, thanks for posting that page from sports car graphic, with mo carter at the glen in 1967. I think some else mentioned it here, but your reference library must be incredible !! a mention of a vague memory one might have, and BANG ! there it is.

robert, sometime back I read somewhere, that a  friend of yours was going to replicate your '67 camaro racer. did that pan out ? thanks for your info on the tucker names, got mixed up with that.

scott, great shots from the glen, that carter camaro sure rides high !! I think one of the other shots that friedman took shows carter leaning down and looking under the car with all the debris, and there is someone on the right with a clipboard. it was in sports car graphic in the day in the section at the back titled "slightly modified" with a caption like " you can start with a crank and a couple of pistons" I always got a chuckle from that part of the magazine.

steve, interesting story on the randall car. I don't think the momentum with the mosport car has died. back in posts 12-15 on this thread, robert barg, who posts as "oldtransamdriver" talked about the tucker AMX. there were three different names bob, bud & gary, mentioned by him. I'm afraid to say I got a bit mixed up with it all ! maybe robert could clarify. robert I think also posts on the canadian motorsport history group. maybe he could inquire there. where the bannerman AMX, if it still exists ? is today. who knows.
P:S..steve do you have any info about the "von-piranha" AMX run by ron hunter from colorado about 1969. I found two pictures somewhere, the car has a lot of scoops, but no cage. maybe it was only a slalom car ?

steve & klvn8tr, glad you are enjoying adam papp's photos, your welcome to post them on AMC threads if your on them. just credit adam for the pics. steve didn't mean to hijack the thread away from your original search for '70 AMX's ! adam also sent me two shots of gord dewars javelin at mosport aprox. 1969. if either of you are  your interested I can send them. very kind of jon to allow a thread on american motors race cars on a camaro site !

shadow ahead, that's the same picture I found, but you beat me to it ! I belong to the canadian motorsport history group forum. I will try and see maybe some one there has something related to the AMX. it's funny how there seems to be little info on some cars. like I said to smkz28, I wish I had taken pictures of everything in the paddock ! but when your 16 or 17 you don't think that way. that someday these will be important cars.

scott, I am not the best ! but thanks , I apologize ! jumped the gun on that one. it's a colour shot of the start I think. but the pace car does not show. sorry about that.

scott & jon, just a quick note on the pic of the grid at the glen in '68 with the pace car. found the same shot, in colour ! in the vintage motorsport issue on the 1968 trans am season, nov/dec 1995.

wishing all of you in the states a great thanksgiving !

scott, thank you ! for posting the shot from '68 trans-am at the glen. you might very well be right about it being from the program for the 1969 race. I seem to remember it was part of an article on trans-am sedans, and was a two page image. It might even have been from some where like hot rod magazine ! it is worthwhile to look in some other publications, which had stuff on different  racing series. I will PM you as to your questions on the '66 can-am. don't want to side track this thread.

SMKZ28, I have no idea why fishers camaro went from black to silver, in the non sanctioned sedan [trans-am] race at tremblant in '67. the car was damaged on the front at that race and didn't finish due to engine problems. somewhere I recall reading that the car was painted yellow after that and got the moniker "cat skinners" as a dig against penske ? because godsall distributed a different make of heavy machinery in canada. JON could chime in here, his depth of knowledge is incredible ! !
SMK you have much better eyes than me when it comes to finding little nuances in photos. maybe there is some clue in the fuel filler set up on the fisher car, from race to race. http://www.autocourse.ca/index.php?file=photos.html  I'm sure you know the autocourse site, there are quite a number of photos from that race there.
