wow ! thanks for that shot of sid rust in the ex chaparral camaro. it's the best one i've seen so far, other than some distant shots of the field at the runoffs in 1974.

thanks for those shots of camaros at daytona. didn't mean to sidetrack the thread into chaparral camaros, but there is a link to "mo" carter.  the chaparral team is my passion. post #11 of the yunick camaro is interesting in that in the top left corner you can just see jim hall. one doesn't see too many pictures of this car at daytona & sebring. I read somewhere that hall did do a couple of laps in the car.

from what robert says, the ex chaparral mo carter camaro was parted out. is the car that runs now as a chaparral camaro in historic trans-am the former sid rust car ? am I correct in assuming that agor car now also vintage raced, is the third ex chaparral car,now orange and running #13 ?  any body give some input ?

re: yunick camaros. did smokey build two 1st generation camaros for racing ? or was the 67 updated to 68 spec's for daytona & sebring in 1968 ? I believe he also built A 70 & 1/2 bodied car which I think  only ran once once at the glen in 71 , but with A.J. foyt sponsorship on the flanks. I think this car went to europe ? does it still exist ? I have the smokey 3 vol. set as well, interesting read.

very cool pic of james garner with the sunoco camaro at sears point from the program for that event. this is mentioned in the donohue technical excellence at speed book on page 169. I wonder if garner actually drove the car ?

just wondering if there is any update on the tuttle/lipetz trans-am book. I am aware that the publisher [david bull] was in a serious accident aprox. a year ago. hope he is doing better.

in the photo of the fairbanks camaro at the june sprints you point out sid rusts camaro in the background. I read somewhere that the rust car was thought to be an ex chaparral camaro, is there any truth to that. also read somewhere else that greg pickett ran a x chaparral camaro in 1975. any one have any photos. I believe rust ran the car at the runoffs 73-75. jon, maybe this needs a separate thread on the chaparral camaros  and their history ?
