Trans-Am Camaros / Re: Trans Am racing pace car pics...are there any?
« on: February 07, 2020, 04:36:07 AM »
Here's one I have in my files, not sure if this is a pace car...parade car or ? my note says Brainerd 1969.

SMKZ28,  If it's not a Trans-Am race I will delete it.

In post 281, from Bryar '68, that yellow Shelby 'vert is parked at pit in, that Javelin and the blue Mustang are coming in pretty hot

not the best place to park  ::)

Here's another angle of the Oldsmobile in the driver's parade with Revson & Follmer at Bryar '68

Thanks KurtS & Jon, that wiper system on the '67 is a new image to me, isn't that similar to what was on the C-3 Corvettes ?

SMKZ28, thanks for your answer, always well researched and explained.

SMKZ28, here are a couple of photos I have in my files, marked as prototype '69 Firebird T/A, the front end shot, looks like it

could be at Milford ? early or late in the year, trees are missing foliage. What is going on at the base of the windshield, some

sort of reverse scoop ? Also interesting has Royal Pontiac license surround.

The rear 3/4 photo, early in the year ? looks like snow still around, there is a sign behind says "welcome race fans" could

this be at Michigan International Speedway ? don't know where I found these it was ages ago !

You do a great job, lot of time and effort go into your posts, thank you !

Robert, don't know if you're still having problems posting, Is this the same car ? my files say Alain, Three Rivers, Quebec Sept. 1 '74.

If it is, I have a few more shots I can post

Think I found this on the Autocourse.ca site, it was a while ago.

General Discussion / dealer release date for '69 Z/28s ?
« on: January 22, 2020, 08:22:11 PM »
 A bit of topic  ;)

What was the date that '69 Z's were for sale at dealers, and available to the public. was it the same all across the country (U.S) or

was the roll out different depending on the zone ?

Asking because I'm trying to date a photo (image below) that the caption says it is 1968, It's supposed to be Courtland, Alabama,

there is a Daytona Yellow ? '69 Z on the grid behind the Shelby Mustang.  This all has to do with identifying where and when for

Ferrari to the left of the GT350 (Charlie Kemp..5R538)

PS: sorry 'bout the size of the pic, tried to make it as small as possible, scroll right and left to see the whole image .

« on: November 13, 2019, 04:30:24 PM »
Is this the car that raced in the Trans-Am series at some point in it's life run by Ken Stoddart I have some images in my files,

maybe that spelling is  a typo on my part ?

I would guess this is the same Butternut yellow '67 RS as in my earlier post, same dog, by the garage.

Scott, here's a photo I just found, I think this is at the '67 Canadian Grand Prix for F1 cars at Mosport. You can see a row of white

Camaros  maybe this is in the wrong spot ? on hind sight (they look like '68's ?) behind the red Chevy panel van.

Scott, did you get the image I sent of the special paint '79 Firebird Trans-Ams ?

Jon, great photos, thanks for posting. What was the reason for the rear exit exhaust, better flow, or some aero advantage ? I saw a photo of the restored car, and it has side exhaust.
