I'm in agreement with camaronut, having worked final inspection in a GM plant in Canada, I'd pull a car aside and point out a fault

 to my supervisor who'd eyeball it and tell me ship it ! It was more about numbers out the door than quality ! I'd see cars in dealers

 and auto shows with faults, that maybe the untrained eye wouldn't spot.

Re: nose stripes, this photo was posted here in another thread on promotional and pace cars by SMKZ28 (thanks Scott !)  from an

 in house GM magazine from 1966 that I have. This was the first appearance of '67s in public September 25th. '66 Can-Am race at

 Mosport, Ontario, Canada. There were comments about the stripe on this car either in that thread or some where else, can't find it

 now.

Here's a '67 SS/RS converible at a dealers in the UK, is that a 327 logo on the fender ?
