Restoration / 67 RS Oil Gauge and Warning Light
« on: February 22, 2022, 11:40:50 AM »
Hi, restoring a 67 RS convertible with console and gauges.  The dash cluster has the  the "OIL" warning light and the new wiring harness seems to have a connector for a pressure sensor on the engine. Were both the gauge and warning light active on these cars originally?  If so, could someone either describe or post a photo of the sender unit on the engine please? Thanks.

Hi Bert, while you're in the general area, do you have a photograph or diagram showing the location of the convertible top motor cover? My car is similar to Philip's, 67 convertible, fold down deluxe rear seat.

Hi, does anyone have a photograph of the convertible top motor cover installed on an original or restored car?  My car has the fold down rear seat. Thanks.

Received my NCRS report which has my '67 shipped to Dealer Code 2 in Zone 21.  Dealer details also included as GM Export, Europe.
Yup, zone 21 is export. 2 for Europe is the only code I know.
What was the production date?
Kurt, production date was 4th Week March, 1967.

My 67 RS convertible was built in Norwood and exported to France.  I assume this would not have been through a dealer, so wondering if there is any point applying for the NCRS information?  Or would GM France have been the dealer?  Their sticker is on the rear quarter window. If not, does anyone know where to find additional information about the export cars? Thanks.

Decoding/Numbers / 67 327 Casting Date Location
« on: September 30, 2020, 12:04:30 PM »
Hi, I have a 327 with the casting date in what seems to be an unusual location. I can't find anything online or in the forums that shows a cast date in this location. There is no cast number in the usual location behind the distributor. The casting date code appears to be A 23 7 which seems about correct for this block.
Assembly numbers are long gone as the engine is now at + 0.060 and has had deck machined. There is no square headed plug at the front of the engine.  The engine is in Australia and will shortly be installed in my 67 Camaro. Appreciate any assistance.

Decoding/Numbers / Exhaust Manifold Casting Number Orientation
« on: September 16, 2020, 12:23:51 PM »
Hi All,

I have recently purchased a LH exhaust manifold to replace my original one which had been repaired previously.  The replacement appears to be the same in all respects, apart from the casting number being upside down.  Is this unusual or common?  A couple of photos attached.

Pushed the wrong key!  Second question:
2. Has anyone seen this type of sleeve and piston arrangement elsewhere.
My inclination is to bin the engine and source a period correct 327.
Any help appreciated.
