Originality / Re: Shock Absorber Codes
« on: August 22, 2018, 01:26:53 AM »
Ed, your broadcast sheet shows two boxes for front springs, but one box for shocks. The rear shows one box for springs and two boxes for shocks. Makes no sense to me.

Do you think we are reading too deeply into this and maybe the person that drafted the blank broadcast sheet didn't fully understand how vehicles are built?

Ed, I think you meant to say box 245 and 247 for the rear shock.

So what do we have to do, verify every single ad with a certification? Really did not want to post the Yenko.net ad, but you wanted a source. Wasn't trying to help the guy sell it, was just hoping someone with that VIN would show up and they could determine if it is something they can use.

General Discussion / Re: 1967 rear spoiler question

Restored cars that have no antenna means it has received replacement Sheetmetal, for new metal does not have a hole for the antenna because they do not know which it is to be and leaves it to the bodyshop to cut a hole where it needs to be.
[/quote]

Maybe a restored car that has no antenna holes could mean it originally was a radio delete car.

Tim,

The part number 3895206 R.H. bracket is riveted to the perch plate as is 3895205 L.H.. Those brackets are used on mono leaf Camaro's. I believe '67 uses both, '69 would use the 3895206 R.H. on mono leaf cars.

Bracket 3923533 is used on both sides muliti leaf and also the drivers side mono leaf '69 Camaro. JL8 uses one on the pass side.

You said you think there is a W stamped on bracket. You are close, it is actually MC. It can be found at the curve where it wraps around the cable.

I am sending you some pictures to your email address since I do not know how to post on this site.

If you took this info out of a book, that is not what KurtS is looking for. The info needs to be gained by looking at original cars and their build dates.

All front turn signals or parking lamps assemblies were the same through out the year. The only exception is the early lens with the trim ring and painted gray outside surface that goes around the lens.

A picture of what you are describing would be helpful.

Don't forget the Light monitor versions were part numbered differently, the housing and pigtail were different than ??% of the std assemblies.

Good point as I forgot about them.
