You might want to check the casting date, as it should not be later than the assembled date on engine pad.

General Discussion / Re: 1967-9 Camaro Factory Rear Sway Bar Question
« on: November 23, 2018, 11:36:53 PM »
It is a totally different setup than the 70 1/2 up Camaro's.

Bar that is used is the same style as a '67 thru '69 front sway bar, but it is thinner, 5/8".

Also, the brackets the links connect to take the place of the upper cushion on the leaf spring. The bracket sits right on top of leaf spring and is sandwiched in the perch.

The rear sway bar is also inverted compared to the front sway bar.

I have the antisway bar on my 70 ss396 camaro

Quite common on the 70 1/2 and up Camaro's as it was optional equipment. The sway bars in this posting is referring to 1st Generation Camaro's.

I checked out the Yenko Camaro VIN list and the only one that starts with 57 and ends in a 2 that looks close would be 124379N578752.

The rear sway bar setup was offered through Chevrolet as an over the counter part, and was listed in their "Heavy Duty Operation Parts" section in the Chevrolet parts book. Not available on the assembly line when the Camaro's were built.

1969 - Orphans / Re: 19N706622 or 708622 muncie case
« on: November 21, 2018, 01:08:17 AM »
First off, I would like to clarify that this case is clearly cast as a 3925661 case which makes it a later in the year production case starting approx September 1969.

Here is the seller's quote.....

"Oct 23 69. This is a rare case because it could be used for either Oct 23 1968 or Oct 23 1969 because of the strike year. This particular one is 1969 because of the car it came out of.  100 cases in stock. Many rebuilt transmissions in stock."

This could NOT be used as a Oct 23, 1968 case as stated by the seller......why, because it would have to be a 3925660 case. Also, '661 cases are tapped for a drain plug even if it is an M20 or M21, where as only the M22 '660 cases are tapped. This '661 case is a M20 and has a tapped drain plug.

For a seller that claims to have a hundred cases, you would think he would know the differences by now.

General Discussion / Wittek Hose Clamp Size
« on: November 08, 2018, 10:44:11 PM »
Does anyone have their original Wittek hose clamps for the heater hoses on their car? I heard they used two sizes, 1 1/16" and 1 1/8". If anyone has original hose clamps I would like to know for the '69 Camaro, big or small block and what plant car was built at and build date.

                                                                      Thanks, Warren

Wasn't there an early tag for sale recently and everyone was questioning when did the D80 on the tags start. This might have been the tag.

Has one groove on the input, so it is a M21.

I have never seen any manufacturers markings on the '69 Z/28 fuel block.

Originality / Re: 69 L78 engine lift hooks
« on: October 17, 2018, 03:10:53 AM »
Lawrence,

All B/B '69 Camaro's came with engine lift hook brackets. The front hook bracket is painted silver on the L78, and L89. I believe the rear bracket is bare.

Checked the VIN 124379N709366 on VinAudit.com and they have history on the car. Now we know it is a coupe and the car may still exist.
