Thanks all.  I didn't know if they were 15x7's or a mix of 15x7 front and 15x8.5 rear.

General Discussion / Wheel and tire advice needed

I really like the look of these tire and wheels on this car for sale on Ebay.  Any guess on the front and rear rim size?  Thank you in advance.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: Eaton Posi casting number help
« on: January 05, 2019, 10:57:11 PM »
Now it makes sense.  Iv'e seen carriers with casting dates like "93" where the seller is saying it's a 1969 carrier, so I was confused.
I have been researching the COPO BE carriers and the only difference I can distinguish is the "small" window on the backside.
I don't know if the spider gears were different but it looks like the COPO BE carrier had the same casting number(EDB-30174) as a regular 4 series posi and the 200 pound springs. Not a bunch of information out there on that unique carrier.  Thanks for all your help.

Looking at a posi Eaton 4 series case with a casting date number 297.  What date does this translate to?  Thanks in advance.

Originality / Re: Big Block interior heater box question

Thanks for the replies.  One other small difference on the Big Block box are the dimples on the sealing area by the mounting studs.

https://www.ksl.com/auto/photo?ssid=4643686&page=2#2  How about Olympic Gold, brown vinyl top, medium green interior.  No wonders it's painted yellow with a black interior now.

Originality / Big Block interior heater box question

I am going to look at a 1st gen eater box I believe is from a. Big Block car.  I have read somewhere the frame that holds the  core is slightly bigger
than  a small block  box.  Can anyone confirm or deny this?  Thank you in advance.

The car is very rusty.

Pulled out of a very rough part of Detroit, cheap. I am sure the previous owners would “not be happy” if they found out he was trying to flip it for 7x what he paid.

It’s a $5k car - max - in my opinion.
Low production numbers doesn't equal value.  I saw a 1969 SS Olympic gold, brown top, medium green gut car the other day.  Probably a very rare combo indeed.  Not on the most desirable lists of color combinations so not it's not bringing in top dollar.  That being said, there's a butt for every seat and I'm sure this car will sell. I'm wondering how high restoration costs would go?

Wasn't the OJ Simpson Camaro a Daytona Yellow SS/RS convertible?

Fascinating. The amount of work to chop a roof on the curvy lines of a 1st Gen Camaro must be a hugh undertaking. Also to add a smooth floor to the bottom of it boggles my mind on the time spent on the car.

This is from the article in Hot Rod about Vic's car. Says Vic Edelbrock, who owns the restored car today, “The front suspension points were relocated and the sub-frame Z-cut and rewelded to allow for a lower floor pan. The entire body was acid-dipped, the hood and front fenders are reshaped and are wider and lower, and every surface under the body was made smooth and reshaped to reduce drag. The windshield was laid back and the drip rails pulled in flush with the body.”
Question.  How do you lay a windshield back on a Camaro?

Besides the 67 frame holes the washer motor hole looks round like on a 67 firewall.  It could just be the angle of the photo.

Originality / Re: ZL1 timing cover and oil pan bolts
« on: April 08, 2015, 12:59:45 AM »
William, my ZL-1 engine has really light black overspray around the timing cover boss like the timing cover was painted on the motor.  I don't know if it came from the factory that way because it was beat to death in a race car and a 53 Vette for awhile so it could have been touched up black anytime after it was put together.  I don't have the bolts on timing cover or oil pan or even the original pan so I'm  little help on that question.
