In Post 3, the side shown mates with the manifold via a gasket.
The bevel side underneath, mates with the exhaust pipe donut.

No, if you look at the ends of the ign key and door key, one is a mirror image of the other key.
Ign key does ign switch and glovebox, door key does doors and trunk lock.

I believe you will need the one style with the welded on scale as opposed to the bolt-on scale.

Small ring gears, 153-tooth, 12.5 inch(?) used the straight-line mounting bolt starter.
Large ring gear, 168-tooth, 14 inch(?) used staggered mounting bolt starter.
Starters with a copper extension between the solenoid and motor terminal are heavy duty starters, more torque.
Standard duty had no extension.

Both designs, whether top of the steering column at the firewall, or on the console shifter, the switch is adjustable.
Loosen the two screws securing the switch on the sides and adjust accordingly.
Make sure a PO did not jumper the two purple wires together or rewired the solenoid control wire independently of the neutral safety switch.

No french locks on center bolts with flat washers, just torque them to 35 ft/lbs.
Outside pairs have flat washers and french locks and torqued to 15 ft/lbs allowing for heat/cold cycles of cast iron manifold(s).

General Discussion / Re: Best Method to Put in Rear Seat?
« on: June 27, 2013, 01:32:29 AM »
Rear seat top hangs on two hooks and is even with the rear deck.
The bottom of the tseat rear is held by two lag bolts.
The rear seat bottom is rolled into place.
Hook the frame under the top and push back the bottom of the seat just over the floor hook and lower into place.
There will be tension pushing the seat bottom forward.
Do the other side the same way.

O-ring size = 7/8 inch diameter, wire diameter is 0.138".
Dipstick tube slides into the case and held in place by a bellhousing bolt.
Should be a straight shot, may have to rotate the dipstick to 'bend' ciorrectly.

Reads like a good plan.
I would start out where you are at now and record the running condition of all driving methods, plus MPG.
Then make a change and record the results and compare with previous.
You can always go back to where you where or where the Camaro ran the best.

Check the brown wire circuitry.
From the ign sw, there is a brown/white wire to firewall connector, approx. 30 ohms resistance for the length.
You will have to remove the GEN bulb to measure as the GEN bulb is a parallel path, with bulb in place, you will measure bulb resistance, a lower value than the single wire.
Next measure the brown wire from the VR to the firewall, or better yet, the light socket on one side as it should be less than one ohm.

When ign on, engine off, one side of GEN bulb has ign power, the other side/contact is lower value, hence a glowing GEN bulb.
Engine running, VR brown supplies power from VR relay of equal amount of power and GEN bulb goes out.
If there is a difference of voltage in the two powers provided, GEN bulb dimly glows.
With a warm battery, VR cover temp of approx. 130°F, battery voltage should approximately be 13.8 volts, no accessories on, VR may be adjusted alittle high.

If you use a stainless steel tubing line and cannot get the joint to seal, I suggest try the following methods,
1. a drop of oil behind the tubing flare and before the nut, if it still leaks,
2. visit a hydraulic/pneumatic hose shop and purchase some copper crush flare washers and fit them between the fitting/adapter and tube flare.

All you have to do is loosen the nut on the bracket bolted to the frame, unhook the return spring, and pull out the ball stud from the frame bracket.
