I would think the AiM could clarify the answer. It does for 1969.

You did it again! Another outstanding car. Congrats! Most would be fortunate to land one survivor in a lifetime. You have had several.

You have that power. Just put the VIN in your post and it will show up in search results.
Probably 124379N649333 or 124379N649338

Thanks, KS. Will do

I was looking at this on eBay and was seeing if it was in this section? I’m convinced the last digit is an 8 and not a 3. If there is a consensus, moderator may have the ability to alter the post to reflect number? Thanks.

Restoration / Re: Looking for clutch adjustment problem help
« on: September 15, 2021, 08:29:42 PM »
My experience is that the clutch fork pivot ball and or throw out bearing are the culprits. The stock height ball worked great on my diaphragm press. plates. When I switched to a 3 finger Borg Beck style, the alignment and adjustment problems began. I ended up getting a longer fork pivot ball that gave more distance and , therefore,  adjustability to pedal. There are different heights of throw out bearings as well

A/C was optional with L34 and L35 396 engines; seen a number of them over the years.
If anyone was going to give a definitive answer, I thought at least one would be from you, Bill. Thanks. Several? Hmmm, would have thought that rare to have both. Thanks, again.

Originality / Re: L78 Survivor Mystery Hole
« on: August 14, 2021, 12:52:58 PM »
I had a SS350 that had hole(s) in the same areas for a Sears, add on ac. Had a York compressor. The unit mounted under dash and was thin and followed the contour of dash indicating it was specially made for that 69 F body/ Nova application. At 18, it was the 1st thing a ripped out of the car.

Originality / 1969 Manual transmission Big Block with AC Radiator

Explaining to several buddies about what 69s came with a curved neck radiator. I told them that I know of no 396 ac with manual trans. Are there any known examples in the database or that anyone has seen and verified? Just curious? I know it could be ordered, but have never seen one.

Yeah, it's pretty goofy. :)

So how do you describe a car like this?  I suppose technically it's not "numbers matching", or at least not "VIN matching".  I guess you would describe it as "documented original drivetrain"?  Just curious in case I decide to list it somewhere.  Seems like you get a lot of grey area on this and some shady wording by some, although I think this car is about as honest as they come.
“Born With Drive train” that term trumps all others as to describing a legitimate number matching car and that is how it should be referred. Anyone that knows these cars will understand what that means.

You can take some activated Charcoal powder and knead it into the caulk to make it black.
