LVN 67 I wasn't sure if I had refinished the bracket, and I did, here is a current picture but I do remember it was a dark phosphate finish with light surface rust.         Hope that helps you. George

Can you George take a picture of that carburetor linkage. I would like to see a proper linkage plate that hits that switch.
19  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Package Tray Paint on: January 13, 2014, 01:41:29 AM
Old topic, but I add my own work here.

Not Package Tray Paint, but maybe the same output. I used Eastwood Trunk Paint Aerosol. Just very thin single layer. (I tried this for the trunk, but it was not good enough for that purpose). The pattern is very low and therefore it did not fit to the trunk paint so good.

When it was dry, I painted basic matte black on top of it.

I think the result is acceptable. What do you guys think?

Too much texture. Use SEM Texture Coating, have your jobber mix up the paint using the code which has the correct texture additive, or duplicate using dry spray technique.

You are right. I need to sand it and try SEM Texture Coating.

22  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Quarter Window Vertical Chrome on: December 28, 2013, 10:57:07 AM
When my original chrome came off I don't remember any adhesive being on them, only a plastic or rubber insert. When I reinstalled them, I cut strips of a truck inner tube and wrapped them over the glass before tapping the chrome back on. The chrome went on tight and the rubber sort of squeezed out as it was compressed. I ran a razor down the edge to trim the excess. Seems to be working well.

I did just the same way a few weeks ago.
