I thought that was what the numbers were.   Here's a picture of the case.

1969 - Orphans / Muncie 4 Speed 9N607881 Found

This is a transmission I have that is apart but has all of its old parts plus new parts.  The numbers on the case are 1 9N607881 and P9B22A.  I'd like to see if someone has the Camaro it belongs to.

General Discussion / Re: Your "twin" Camaro. Is it possible?

I know of one Z11 near me that is a 350 with a 3 speed manual with the shifter on the floor.  No console, no AC, manual top, no clock.  It did have an am radio.  I believe it is as basic of a Z11 as was made.  It's always been interesting to me when I see any model Camaro that has only the base options.  I think basic Camaro models were rather rare.

My 69 VN's  numbers on the left side are 871.  It was built 3rd week of March.  It also has another marking that was partially erased that I can't quite make out.  It looks like TN or since it is a Z11 it could have something to do with that.

General Discussion / What Kind Of Axles Are These?
« on: March 05, 2016, 04:28:54 AM »
I ended up with a lot of 69 Camaro parts and I know that the man that had these parts was in the process of getting parts together to make a JL8 4 wheel disc brake set up for one of his 69 Camaros.   There are 2 new aftermarket type axles that I'm guessing was part of the set up.  I would like to sell them sometime but first I would like to find out what brand they are and if they are indeed what would work for the JL8 option rear end or a 69 Camaro.  They are in a box that looks like the box they came in but for some reason the brand, part numbers or any information has been cut out.  I have no idea why.

So here are some clues and pictures.

He had put a piece of tape on both axles and one has 59.588 on it and the other has 29.585 on the tape and in marker 29.011.  For some reason it seems like a friend of his mentioned to me that they were Strange axles.  They are 30 and 3/8ths inches long.

I appreciate the help.

Restoration / Re: What arer the correct colors for these?
« on: February 06, 2013, 11:42:01 PM »
Okay, I'll buy that.  Powder coating the breather won't look right.  Then if I use semi gloss paint on all 3 pieces that would be correct and look right?

Restoration / What arer the correct colors for these?
« on: February 05, 2013, 01:57:07 AM »
I'm getting ready to have some parts powder coated.   I know there is a list on here for colors but it doesn't have some info.   What black color is the cowl induction air cleaner top cover?  Gloss or semi gloss.  What black color for the bottom part?  What black color is the flat seal ring?

Thanks, Wayne

Originality / Re: 69 Z28 Radiator Re-coring ?
« on: January 25, 2013, 06:15:28 AM »
I had my original 69 SS 350 radiator re-cored about 3 years ago.  I had it changed from a 2 to 3 core while he was at it.  He put all of the tags and everything back correctly.  It was pricey but I've been very happy with it and glad I did it and not install a new one.  Here is a picture of the main tags and info.  I did a poor job of painting the letters but I could see them better.

A friend of mine asked if a 69 console with gages can be installed in a 1967 Camaro.  It is a 4 speed.  If so, what are the dimensions where the front bracket starts from some point like the welded seam?

Thanks, Wayne

General Discussion / Re: 1969 Burnished brown Z/28's

I saw a BB Z28 here in Oklahoma about 20 years ago or more.  It had worn original paint.  I remember commenting on not seeing very many BB 69 Camaros.  He made the comment about maybe painting it another color.  I don't know what happened to it.   I do remember looking at the cowl tag and it was a real Z28 X33 or X77 and had the spoiler option code stamped also.

Just my reminiscing.  I had a hugger orange SS RS at the time.

I appreciate the information.  I recognize those information pages from the Camaro Corral / Enthusiast magazines.  I have most of those and I should have thought to look there.   I'll go over the information and see what more I can tell and fill in the blanks.

I am keeping the original copy in a plastic cover in a file folder.  I've made some copies to handle and take pictures of like what you see here.  I was thrilled to find on the site here that the chassis broadcast copy could be found on the top of the fuel tank on the left side on California built 69 Camaros.   I looked and sure enough I could see the edge of it.  It was glued on which is where I tore the long middle piece of it getting it off.  I got in too much of a hurry.  I think this original paper is worth more like it is than restored since part of it is missing anyway.  There's probably somewhere that I could get a good reproduction made just for fun.  I know there's places that do window stickers.
.

I feel fortunate that the VIN number and most of the codes are on it including the 5Z11AA on it.  It's a pace car that was painted black and had tan leather upholstery installed with tan carpet and tan homemade door panels sometime in the late 70's when they were just considered old Chevys.  I've found that most of the parts are still on the car and I've been recording numbers, colors and taking pictures as I've cleaned or replaced stuff.  I plan on restoring it back to the original color soon.  However, it's kind of fun cruising and going to some local car shows.  It's fun watching other Camaro nuts figure out what it is.

Decoding/Numbers / 1969 chassis broadcast copy decoding information wanted
« on: February 13, 2012, 09:20:48 PM »
I found my chassis broadcast copy on top of the fuel tank on my California built Camaro and I can read most of it.  However, a little bit of one side and a portion that was glued on to the tank is gone.  And some parts of it are faded and I can't read the box numbers or codes.  Is there a place on this site that has a picture of a blank broadcast copy or one that I can read all of the box numbers and descriptions?  And, is there a place that has what the code numbers or letters mean?

Most of the parts on the car are still the original.  It has been painted black sometime a long time ago.  I'll attach a copy of the broadcast copy.

Thanks
