271  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 1969 z28 rear brake backing plates on: April 21, 2013, 10:16:40 AM
Thank you. My drums had never been off and welded themselves go the hub. I heard you could back them off but no hole .
272  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / 1969 z28 rear brake backing plates on: April 20, 2013, 09:08:28 PM
Haven't found exactly what I'm looking for.
I noticed on eBay plugs for an adjuster hole on the backing plate. I got some parts from HBC and the plugs were included. My backing plates don't have a hole for them?
Also not sure what they are called but the arms, levers that are involved with the parking brake seem to be plated with the parts dealers. Mine show no signs of gold after cleaning with evaporust. We're they bare metal?
273  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: What carb date for my 06A early June Z on: April 15, 2013, 04:56:34 PM
I have a 954 and been looking almost a year for a late January/ February.  Tough to find and not paying 1500!

Was going to get my axle assembled and hope to get it under the car this week and found those with no paint on them!! too many parts here I guess.
275  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: Z28 grill and tailpanel emblem question. on: April 14, 2013, 09:07:39 AM
One of my fronts is a dark grey instead of silver but the same part number. Weird stuff

Jerry's book shows 3958642 as the front. His rear number is 8701333 which is on a box I have but emblem is different
277  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: Z28 grill and tailpanel emblem question. on: April 14, 2013, 08:02:41 AM
I have my originals off. 8745869 is the rear. I have my original front and some reason 2 spares. I don't find a part number in any of them. The boxes of the 2 nos ones i have are
3958642. Odd thing is, box for back 1 has different part number than the emblem. Maybe it came with nuts?
The front emblem has studs that are close to 2 inches long and has tabs on the z and 8 to fit into grill
278  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / color of front leaf spring bracket? on: April 14, 2013, 07:38:01 AM
I searched and couldn't come up with anything. Should the front mounting bracket be axle gloss or was it painted with the bottom of the body?
Thanks
279  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 1969 Control Arm Alignment Shims on: April 02, 2013, 09:12:20 PM
Mine look like the bottom one. If you clean it up, it should have a stamp on it that looks like arocket. I didn't look close enough but there might be something in the middle of the rocket
280  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / what engine motor mount did you use on z28 on: March 31, 2013, 09:58:08 PM
Getting parts ready to install engine and noticed the mounts on engine were the original non locking ones. One had a crack in rubber so I figured to get a new set. Is it a good idea to switch to the locking ones? I think the wider one was the cracked one.
Thanks

Very cool. Someone spent some time on the stripes. I like it!

My block is stamped on same place and the number is tough to see. The light has to be just right. Neat car you have
283  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 12 bolt cover on: March 26, 2013, 11:06:42 AM
Thanks. I searched a few times and never saw that
284  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / 12 bolt cover on: March 26, 2013, 08:12:56 AM
I have noticed some covers have a notch out of one side. Even seen them called nos. My original doesn't have the notch. Where did the notched ones come from? Are the repops accurate?
285  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Subframe Crisis on: March 23, 2013, 10:16:51 PM
My car had 2 colors of primer. Lighter gray in front foot area and the top of the tunnel. I did a lot of looking for paint and used sikkens rally black. Turned out gorgeous. I wanted a paint that would use hardener and a good sheen. Its a little pricey but very pleased
